Hi everyone. I'm new here. I have a question about seating at studio 54. I am wondering if sitting at tables in rows A and B at studio 54 are ok seats or if I should be farther back. I really like sitting in the front row but I have never sat in the tables at studio 54 before. The seats are on the side (row A seat 16 and row B seat 16). Can anyone who's sat there before give me some advice. Will I miss a lot of the show from these seats? Should I get one of these seats or go for a table farther back or the mezz?
When I saw Assassins, I sat in the mezz., and they were great seats. I have heard that the best seats are Orchestra Row F, and that if you sit at a table that it is too far back, you miss some things.
The best seats IMO are in orchestra row G. It's the first level of seats that are a step up, so there's no one blocking you and you have a clear view of the stage.
We sat in B 115 and 116 and it was perfect. I do like to sit up close though. At one point some of the actors stood in front of our table and I liked that.

We sat in the very last row of the orchestra (I believe it was the bar rail, row L). The seats were good for the most part, but I recommend sitting closer, if possible. There were certain aspects of the staging that we were unable to see.
When my friend saw Cabaret from the front table, she called it the "Crotch Seats" because, well...that's what she saw a lot of. A little distracting. Now I don't really know the crotch level Assassins has, but if there's a lot going on during the show, as in all over the stage, i'd say go a little farther back than the frong.

Personally, I prefer to be farther back, especially for a show like Assassins. I saw it a few weeks ago from the very last row of the mezzanine and thought the seats were wonderful (plus they're only $36!). I'm going again tomorrow night and I'm sitting in almost the same seat (a few seats farther to the center...yay!) For a show such as Assassins, you get a better view of the BIG PICTURE of what is going on. There are a lot of amazing blocking moments that are best seen from far away, in my opinion.
I sat in the first row of tables off the floor (H???). They were good for seeing the entire stage.
2nd time around I will be sitting in D. I enjoyed getting the "full picture" - but now I am eager to see the actor's faces. Warning for sitting up close - get used to have a gun pointed at you at close range!
I saw everything perfectly sitting up close at Assassins.
Cabaret had much more going on and sitting that close wouldn't allow you to take it all in (I would think).
