seeking an Agent

Hey all, I have written a new musical, set in the '20s Jazz Age: cracking plot, great characters, classic Tin-pan Alley songs, & big dance numbers. Based on an award-winning '50s film, in the same genre as "An American in Paris". IMO, potentially a smash hit!

I've contacted some Agents by e-mail, but nil response so far. Can anyone out there personally refer me to someone? or give me the heads up on the best way of getting one?

I live overseas, but will be in NYC for the first week of October. I would love to do some business & make useful contacts during my visit.

Whatever you do, do NOT send any attachment that needs to be opened, etc. People are busy; no one has time to go an open an attachment to keep reading more material. It's industry protocol to include anything you need to say in the email body. Any visuals need to be visible upon them opening your email. If you didn't follow all or some of this, there's the reason why you never received any response.
