How are the "selections" chosen?

i.e. Cats- why is "Skimbleshanks" on the selections CD, but not "Bustopher Jones" ?

Maybe this'll make you bite...

Why isn't "You'll See" on the "Selections from RENT" CD?

A highlights, or selctions from, cds usually include just enough songs to move the story along.

I was going to say the same thing Cats said, in regards to Rent. Since two cds have to be shorn down to one, any songs that are more recitative-like would be the obvious choices to cut first. Looking at the track list for the Rent hightlights album, it looks like most of the more dialogue heavy songs are cut.

I don't think it's all THAT dialogue heavy...

Also I think it should have been included because it gives Benny more of a character. Without it, he just seems like a stereotypical ass.

Well, there's only a finite amount of room on a cd. It could have just been an arbitrary choice.
