'Twelve Angry Men' should give you several possibilities.

JB by Archibald MacLeish has a prime scene for the lead in which he tells off God.

re: serious monologues

I hate to say it, but, there is some serious stuff in Wicked. Its not as long as a monologue should be, but if you mix a few longer lines in a scene together, you'll get a monologue.

I'm only saying this because EVERYONE is familiar with Wicked...sadly.

re: serious monologues

Wicked? Really? How about something of a little more serious nature.
Try AGATE's final monologue from "Waiting for Lefty" by Clifford Odets. It's all about shouting and rabble rousing.

One lives in a field of influences, one is influenced by everyone one meets, everything is an exchange of influences, all opinions are derivative. Once you deal a new deck of cards, you've got a new deck of cards." — Peter Brook
