I have seen all incarnations of the show (pre-Broadway tryout in Boston, Broadway with David Shiner, Rosie O'Donnell, and Cathy Rigby), 1st National Tour with Cathy Rigby, Non-Equity Tour, and other regional productions.

My absolute favorite was the 1st Nat'l Tour with Cathy Rigby. It eased several book problems, in my opinion, and the staging was GREAT! It was an unsuspected delight for me.

There were rumors that a cable TV network wanted to record and broadcast the show...but those plans never came to fruition. Such a shame.

Also a shame that MTI doesn't license the show with the edits that came with Rigby's tour. They license the Broadway version, in addition to a "Jr." version and a 90-minute condensed version for kids.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

(Let's just say I didn't see the pre-Broadway tryout live...)

Ahrens & Flaherty are one of my favorite composing teams. I first thought SEUSSICAL was going to be a boring kids show. I was dead wrong. It was wonderful...even with my narrow taste.

SEUSSICAL has become one of my favorite shows, despite its flaws. The score is FANTASTIC.

It's one of my favorites too! I just got done like two months ago doing a production. I was a Wickersham! It was, hands down, the most fun I've ever had doing a show.

Fantastic score as well.

I really dislike the changes that they made to the MTI version of the show, and hope that at some point MTI will offer the option to do the original Broadway Version on the Equity Touring Version.....

You learn to play the straight man, the lines become routine - never really saying what you mean - but i know the scene will change :)

the mti version is the equity tour version and i have a question
how was rosie in the role.and i could have been one of the kids to get chosen by cathy rigby in the audience no one would volunteer during intermission and i raised my hand and she was coming torwards me but she snatched this girl that was looking down at the orchestra pit because act 2 was about to start.so ilost my 10 seconds of fame and universal needs to do a film version.
