I'd say Sweeney and Piazza.

Sweeney Todd Hands Down. It is truly an amazing sight to see.

I am thinking of trying one of the lottos tomorrow, but I am not sure yet. I usually stay away from the city on New Years Eve (sitting on my comfy couch in Jersey watching the ball drop), but I thought I might be able to get in to see a matinee (or at least try the lotto for a matinee) and still get home without too much trouble... How crazy does it usually get during the day on New Years Eve?

I'm seeing "The Little Dog Laughed" at 2pm and "Dog Meets God" at 8pm. I actually have a couple extra tickets to the latter. Anyone wanna join me?

TMZ - I too try to avoid Times Square on New Years Eve (prime time to get babysitting gigs on the UES) but I think if you tried for off-Broadway instead it would be easier to get tickets and avoid the major crowding in Times Square. Even Little Dog Laughed which is at 43rd & 8th should be relatively accessible... I used to work right next door to 2nd Stage and 8th avenue is extremely empty compared to 7th ave. If I weren't going out of town on the 1st I would totally try and see Newsical, but alas, I have to pack and do other not-so-fun stuff.

I'd think that the Matinee performances would be tricky to get tickets for because tourists can see a matinee and then wait outside for the ball to drop. but who knows? Maybe they'll all want to just start waiting for the festivities beginning at 2.
