show to see on Saturday, 12/31

HELP ME!

I have just bought a plane ticket to New York for Saturday 12/31. My plane lands at 11am and leaves at 11:30pm which gives me just enough time to squeeze in two shows.

WHAT SHOULD I SEE?

I haven't seen, but would like to see: Light in the Piazza, Spelling Bee, Sweeney Todd, Souvenir, Sweet Charity, Seascape, Chita's show. Are there any other straight plays worth seeing besides Seascape, Souvenir, and Doubt?

GIMME SUGGESTIONS!

Chitty Chitty and Sweet Charity...both are closing that day and I will be at both performances!

not really into "Chitty", heard it's kinda ****ty, ****ty.

but i would like to see the mess that is Kelly Bundy as Charity.

honey, if you're going to see something just to make fun of it, don't bother. If you want a great night out in the theater, definitely go see Piazza and Sweeney Todd.

I'd go see Spelling Bee as one of your shows.. it's a fun and great that I think you'll love. I'd try to fit that one in for sure.

no no no im sure Christina is good as Charity, would never go to a show just to make fun of it. and well, if you're gonna be in the audience that is definitely a reason to attend.....

I think you should go see Chita's show. You'll love it.

Depending on what airport you're flying out of, I wouldn't chance missing your plane because you went to see an evening performance.

I'd highly recommend "Jersey Boys" if you can get tickets on 12/31.
The show rocks & it's truly the most fun I've ever had at the theater!

There's a 2pm Jersey Boys show on 12/31, but not sure if there are any tickets available.

No thanks, doesnt appeal to me - doesnt reach out and grab me - the bit on the parade was boring (reminded me of Good Vibrations).

Of the shows you mentioned, Doubt and Seascape are the best. But I'm a big play freak, so that might be a bias.

P.S. I haven't seen The Light in the Piazza, but have heard great things.

Oh god no, not WiW. If you want to hear good AlW, just pop in Joseph. Doubt is truly a breathtaking night out at the theatre.

I agree with you on WiW, it stinks worse than Ann-Margaret drunk in "Best Little Whorehouse". But where I disagree is the last part- any good ALW, there isnt any (Aspects is okay, but not good).

What is the traffic procedure in Times Square for tommorow? I was thinking of doing the DRS lottery, but Im not sure if I want to be in the mess of crowds.

i'd stay away from 7th avenue... if you need to go towards 7th approach it from 8th. www.timessquarealliance.org should have some info. basically they'll be starting at 42nd and blocking streets more and more as space fills up near the ball. they'll probably start blocking around 2 but that's just my speculation.

if you are taking the subway, try the ACE over 123 or NQRW just because it's easier to get out at 8th Ave... or just stay underground as long as possible.
