silly theater algorithm

When I try to sleep, unlike those who count sheep, I list the 41 Broadway theatres (either geographically or alphabetically) While doing it by owner, I came across an interesting mathematical anomaly. Looking at owners with more than one broadway house (not counting off-bway like Laura Pels or NWS)...

Each chain has just under twice the number of the next largest. In other words, if you divide the number by half and round up, you'll get the number of the next smaller. Shubert 17, Nederlander 9, Jujamcyn 5, Roundabout 3, ATG 2.

The things one comes up with at 3 AM.

That's fantastic! I didn't know about this website. So, according to this, the Lyceum and the Hudson are the oldest theatres - both built in 1903? I was in the Hudson for SAITPWG and it was beautiful! I've not yet seen anything in the Lyceum. Is it as nice?
