Posted: 10/15/03 at 11:26pmI think puns about genitalia are in very poor taste and it was puns such as these that got other boards shut down. And, yes Roxy, I mean you with your constant referencing the penis sponge in DOTV. It was a hoot. It deserved a Tony. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

See and here I was going to say something and now I will not...
...and let us not forget ELAINE PAIGE who discussed her tiny stature and how they had to change the railing in Sunset Boulevard as all you could see was the turbon bobbing down the stairs....

Posted: 10/16/03 at 1:30pmThe FORBIDDEN BROADWAY Elaine Paige in SUNSET routine was hilarious. What was the line something about it's the staircases that got tall?

4'11 you have a chance look at someone like Jen Cody she's a tiny little thing and she's on Broadway. Currently there are a lot of different looks and backgrounds all over Broadway.
Now If you where looking to be a Rockette I would worry a little lol.

I fully agree (yet again) with lovely Namo. Mr Roxy, your postings are truly distasteful. Ironically, you are quite sanctimonious when it comes to criticizing political speech here, but seem to feel fully at ease with adolescent toilet humor. Does your "wife" know about this?
I digress.
As far as being 4'11" -- every size has advantages and disadvantages. From the old days: Helen Hayes was your height. (Yes, I actually worked with her once. That's how old I am.) Jane Powell is your height, and she's in the new Sondheim show now. Kristin Chenoweth is your height. Fear not, find your part, find your voice and let the critics howl!

Posted: 10/16/03 at 1:54pmWell, your one inch too tall for A Chorus Line. :)
re: size#15
Posted: 10/16/03 at 1:55pmPatti lapone is also short, although she weighs a bit over 110lbs these days. Bernadette Peters, although more than 4' 11' I don't think she is much more than that, if I recall correctly. Bebe Newirth is only about 5'2" and Faith Prince is about the same.

Posted: 10/16/03 at 2:41pmI think Faith Prince is taller than 5'2". When she walked by me in a theater lobby I'd say she was around 5'5" or 5'6". But maybe she had on very high heels?

Funny...
It seems to me that pretty much every Broadway actress I encounter are absolutely tiny, especially when I compare them to my 5'8" 145 pound self. I feel like an absolute Amazon next to a lot of those I meet at stage doors. Truthfully, I ought to have been a football player I think, having inherited my dad's wide shoulders and torso.
Nevermind me. It's just something that's bothered me about myself for as long as I can remember. What really wigs me out is that I remember being an inch taller than Adam Pascal and also several of the male chorus of Aida. Eek! I think the only one who was taller than me was Tyrees Allen who played Amanosro. I am taller than Delisco, taller than Damian Perkins, about the same height as Donnie Kerr. Argh!
I don't think I've ever encountered a Broadway actress of my stature. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

Darling, big women do well too. Kate Shindle and Brooke Shields are giants and they played Sally Bowles. Have you ever gotten a gander at Vanessa Redgrave? Sutton Foster? Darcie Roberts? The list goes on and on.
These are not limitations. They are opportunities.
