Hey do any of you know of a relatively small (cast-size) musical that was fairly recently produced on or off-broadway? I can't think of much and am looking for a show to do.

***Check the MTI website. You can search for a musical by cast size.

Well, my school is doing "Honk", and the cast is pretty small. It's supposed to be the "Jr." version though.

Rentgal589 is soon to be under new management.

Can't be a show that's still running! Can't do it then! Un less it's Les Mis, which has a big cast, so basically no.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Songs For A New World, The Last 5 Years, The Fantasticks, tick, tick...BOOM. One I saw recently was The Dead and the cast was relatively small. Not quite so much as the others, but still small.

by The Dead you don't mean Evil Dead do you?

You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor

"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

Y'know, this is the kind of thread that only underscores the necessity of having a FAQ section on this board. How many bleeding times do we need to see this kind of question over and over?

And to the original poster: there are a ton and a half of resources that can answer this far faster by a sinple Google search or a fast march through the catalogues of companies like Samuel French. Put those resources to use. That's why they're there.

No. Its full title is actually James Joyce's The Dead, I think.

Little Women is a fairly small cast, and I think it's a great musical!

Going to a musical late in its run is like going to a prostitute late in her shift.

Here in Holland there's a production of Honk done with a cast of Six. One of the best musical this season over here.

BAT BOY and REEFER MADNESS, both of which can be done with ten performers or even less (lots of role-doubling). Both are outrageous, funny and edgy, so it depends on your potential audience.

I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."
