Well if you have a open and comfortable relationship with your parents, then I don't see why anything in Spring Awakening would be awkward to see with them. It just depends on their comfort level and their comfort level with you.
I personally don't think there would be any problems, but I know that is not always the case for everyone.

Posted: 6/30/07 at 5:00pmI don't think he meant to be attacking you at all. Parent/Child relationships can be sticky when it comes to issues like the ones portrayed. If you have a better, more comfortable relationship with your parents, I think that's great!

Just talk to your parents beforehand. You have the advantage of having seen it before, so you know exactly what they will see.

I'm a mom who went to see Spring Awakening with my teenage daughter. Believe me ,there were a few moments where I cringed, but that was more because I was thinking how uncomforbale she must of felt. THe audience laughs at the masterbation scence which eases the tension. It really will be fine. What is the worst thing that could happen? The show is so much more than those few scenes. I thought it was awesome!

Posted: 6/30/07 at 10:00pmI would definitely warn them and discuss the show ahead of time. Depending on your relationship, it doesn't have to be a big deal. I would think that a discussion beforehand will allow you to feel more comfortable and enjoy the show.
