i've been calling for more than an hour and i think i'm gonna give up......everytime i get through on the website it tells me that they have exceeded the amount of tickets for this event.
oh well, i already have tickets to see them and i guess if i really really want to see them again, i'll go through a broker, i rather shell out the money than have this frustration.....

Posted: 11/16/03 at 1:16pmi've been trying forever now, and i can't get through. i've given up on the internet.
#2re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/16/03 at 4:18pmi just came back from standing in fron of the theater for 5 hours. yes, id say its hopeless now. the fron 300 people or so are clearly not interested in seeing the show and are mostly homeless people that have been paid to stand in lines and purchase 8 tickets at a time for scalpers. the line stopped moving aroun 1 pm and didnt move more than 20 feet. the box office closes at 6 and sadly to say, i doubt theyve sold one legit ticket that isnt going straight to a scalper. this is a sad day for the theatre-going public.

Theatreboy33, who will wind up in those seats viewing the show other than the "theater going public?"
Perhaps "theater going public" with more money than some others, but certainly still the theater going public.
#4re: re: re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/16/03 at 5:40pmi realize that. i know that the people buying them are not seeing the shows but rather selling them to the rich who can afford their new price. i just find it sad that the only way now to get a producers ticket for 3 solid months of the show is through dealing with a a scalper. And THAT IS sad.

Theatreboy33,
the ultimate, actual
"sad," is that the brilliant Broderick and Lane will only be playing for three months

Posted: 11/16/03 at 5:48pmCalling for more than an hour? I called for 48 hours straight and the line was busy. I don't believe it was busy every second. Not when you try at 3:00 a.m. just to see if they pick up.
#7re: re: re: re: re: re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/16/03 at 7:04pmOMG!!! It repulses me that homeless people were bieng paid to wait in line. That is horrible.
#8re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/16/03 at 7:07pmi have to agree with newyorkuniq....using homeless people to stand in line is plain awful.
#9re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/16/03 at 7:12pmThese same people would normally not give a dime to homeless people but they will for this. Are these people full of themselves ? Oh dear I want the tickets but I do not want to be seen waiting in line with the great unwashed masses. Eureka, I will have a homeless people do my dirty work. I hope those people get tickets for a show & Lane misses those shows.

#12re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/20/03 at 11:50pmSorry, I don't get the hysteria and urgency connected to this mass exile to see Lane & Broderick. Yeah! they were good, yeah it's a fun show. But this is really overkill. It's not like they are irreplacibly wonderful...and neither is the show. It's just a &*%$*^*# show. Guess its' just me...but no show on earth could make me jump through hoops the way people are for this one.
#13re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/21/03 at 1:14pmmany of you that don't see the urgency of seeing the show or what the big deal is, have already been to the show!! get it, many others missed it the first time around and are hoping to see the magic that is the producers...

You know what I hate is the fact that Ticketmaster put tickets on sale before the box office opens. That's not fair for the people who stood in a line from really early in the morning in the freezing cold. ![]()
I always prefer to get my tickets from the box office. I don't use credit cards very often, and for the most part I'm at school during the week (my school is very close to the theaters). I stood outside of the building last year to buy tickets to Liza's Christmas concert, and it really pissed me off that tickets went on sale at like 9am through ticketmaster. So even though I was being a devoted fan, and standing out in the cold, some rich jackass with a highspeed computer was able to get beter seats than me.
#15re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/21/03 at 2:32pmi have a high-speed computer but i assure you that i am not a rich jackass (jackass perhaps, but not rich). plus, not everyone can readily access the box office or has the time or opportunity to be as devoted as you. i betcha that you have better seats than i do, even with my high-speed computer...

#16re: re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/21/03 at 2:35pmBut the point is, tickets should go on sale at the same time through the internet and the box office. That way everyone has a fair chance. :)
#17re: re: re: re: sold out yet?
Posted: 11/21/03 at 2:37pmthen the fact that tickets went on sale a week earlier to amex gold card holders must have really burnt your britches!!

Not for the Producers, b/c I won't be seeing that anytime soon, nor do I really care if I don't see it. But yes, that whole early presale thing annoys me too. ![]()
LOL I think I'm just bitter because I don't have a good credit card or a fast computer. If I did my attitude would probably be different.
I'm such a hipocrit.

"Not for the Producers, b/c I won't be seeing that anytime soon, nor do I really care if I don't see it."
then why are you posting this on a producers thread?

Because it's a free country and I felt like sharing my feelings about ticket sales in general.
If I could get tickets to see them in the Producers I would definitely go; but considering the fact that everbody was trying to get tickets at the same time, I pretty much assumed that my chances would be slim. And since I am very picky when it comes to where I sit in a theater, I would not settle for something like last row Balcondy or Mezzanine.
