Don't you LOVE that Broadway's Leading Ladies DVD where Elaine actually starts Ladies who Lunch in the wrong key (its so brief that if you aren't listening very closely - you'll miss it completely)...I LOVE HER. Her one-woman show was one of the best evenings I've ever spent in the theatre - truly magical.
Oh yes!!! But she can get away with it!! We usually run it at my place at around 11:00pm on a Saturday after a few bottles of wine!!!
yes, AT LIBERTY was a great night--and Elaine will outlive us, she's been pickling for years Updated On: 8/26/04 at 04:50 PM
If there is another person in the Cabaret than you could do "See Me" from BARE.
NBRISBY - How about "He Touched Me" (Heather Headley's version is wonderful)
I was gonna do a love osng like He Touched Me, but I decided that the moment wasn't right for a love song. It's a moment of self-reflection...kind of an Oprah, "I'm doing okay" kind of moment. No love involved except a healthy self-love.
and as far as Elaine Stritch goes. I think she's super-human. She's older than Judas Iscariot, and she has twice his balls.
My favorite thing about her is the asymetrical bow she does suddenly after every song she sings...often combined with bizarre hand/arm movements. LOVING HER and her pitch problems, too.
When and where will your performance take place?
gotta get it written before I decide things like that. =)
Makes sense! Good luck with it!
