Snoopy, The Red Baron, and Suppertime from YAGMCB are all sung by a dog

Woodstock's Theme, Where Did That Little Dog Go?, The Big Bow-Wow from Snoopy!

Just about all the songs from The Lion King are about animal characters.

Oklahoma! (chicks, ducks, geese, snowwhite horses, brown maverick, cattle, compares corn height to that of elephant's eye, field mouse)

The Egg - 1776 (compares the birth of a nation to the birth of an eagle)

Mama Will Provide - Once on This Island (frogs and birds)

Bushel and a Peck - Guys and Dolls (cows and chickens)

Corner of the Sky - Pippin (eagles belong where they can fly)

Museum Song - Barnum (armadillos, clever caterpillars)

50 Thousand Years Ago - Celebration (about evolution)

Kiss of the Spiderwoman - Kiss of the Spiderwoman

Tradition and Chaveleh - Fiddler on the Roof (horse! mule!, Little Bird)

My fav animal song is MEADOWLARK! ("Baker's Wife") And there's one from Maltby & Shires "Closer than Ever" Called "The Bear, The Tiger, The Hamster and "The Mole", about women who don't need men, very funny. LOVE Green Finch. I know there are more than I'm remebring...this will most probably be an edited post.

The title song from TWO BY TWO (music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Martin Charnin) is about animals having sex. It's like a bbiblcal version of "Birds do it, bees do it..."

...even educated fleas do it. Cole Porter = well known for his lyrical animal references

It's a stretch, but "Four Black Dragons" from Pacific Overtures, uses an animal metaphor.
"The Day Off" from Sunday, has George talking-singing a dialogue between two dogs.
The Frogs is all about...well...frogs.
"If I Had A Fine White Horse" from Secret Garden.
Seussical is full of animal characters, so just about all the songs deal with animals in one way or another.
"Girls And Dogs" from Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris.
"The Bulls," from the same show.
"Pegasus" from Guettel's Myths & Dreams/Saturn Returns.
