DEFYING GRAVITY is SOOOO easy to go flat on! My friend goes flat a lot when she sings it. But sometimes its great! I love her! Shes so awsome!re: songs that are easy to go flat on

"I've always secretly longed for an actress to get to the top of the cherry picker and projectile vomit all over the guards below."- Wonderwaiter in the "Defy Gravity?" thread. ~~~~~~~~My dream? Sutton Foster as Cassie in A Chorus Line

"Were You Not To KoKo Plighted" - This is a bitch of a song to sing trying to keep in pitch. It has a whole heap of sharps and flats injected, especially in the first 20 bars, so one must try very hard to maintain pitch.
This song can be a trainwreck for an otherwise good Nanki-Poo

Re: JC Superstar. Like I was saying, when you hear the cast recording, people are singing notes all over the place. But have you seen the sheet music? I performed Gethsemane the way it was written, and vocally, that song is not hard at all.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

OK...but...why would you want to sing that song the way it was written? That's pretty...no...that's intensely lame, isn't it?
The JCS score is very challenging to sing for ANYONE...

My pick for easy song to go flat on is UPTOWN GIRL.

Anything ever sung by Mariah Carey.....

"I guess she is one very confident girl who feels if you see it, it shall be. I hope she sees a room with a piano player and a bunch of scary middle-aged queens sitting behind a table, talking to each other as she auditions!!" -Marc Shaiman on Kelly Osbourne in Hairspray

"Over the Moon" from Rent.

There's a couple of notes in there that are really quite ridiculous.

I sung it the way it was written, because at 17, I didn't want to scream and ruin my vocal chords. Besides, i like the "written" version better than the "screaming" version. The latter is what makes me dislike the song itn its entirety (unless it's sung by Amy Ray from the Indigo Girls : JCS: A Ressurection - the best JCS recording of all time)
