The last time I was there they had t-shirts, the CD, and copies of the play. They may have also had hats.
Once again, why are people more interested in merchandise than the show itself?
This isn't Disneyland.
But if it was, the best merch for this show would be condums stained nightshirts, and personal hand guns.
just putting it out there.. i did say my FRIENDS WANTED SOUVENIRS.. that was the main reason for the question jerk.. and obviously since i have tickets for the show and am not just ordering merch offline, seeing it IS important.
so is the only reason you posted to be obnoxious? because that's the only significance i see here..
Whoa calm down.
Well I have seen many people asking what merch is available and i wonder why they wanna wear a SPRING AWAKENING tee shirt if they haven't even seen the show
I, of course, am sittin here in my THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING baseball cap.
Hope you like the show DramaQueen.
It's very good.
How about those people who can't get to the show? Or can't get to New York? Why shouldn't people just support the show regardless of whether or not they have seen it? You're sitting there w/ your Times... baseball cap -- I bet the producers hope to sell some more of that merch. even though the show has closed and make some of the money back that they spent on making the products. Maybe they really like and appreciate Spring Awakening and want to express that in wearing a t-shirt of it.
Like it said up there.
Whoa
I am not slammimg anyone who wants to support a show they like.
That's why I wear the damn cap.
I'm sorry if you can't get to NYC to seee SPRING AWAKENING,
it IS a good show.
but instead of giving your friend $30 to buy a shirt put it away for a trip to NYC.

$30 is a lot different than $3,000 (Coming from someone who has sent money with a friend, i know what it is like to want to see a show and not have the money to fly across the country). Just be happy that people are supporting a show no matter how they do it.
OK I am sorry.
Wear your tee shirt proud!
CurtainPullDowner, rot elsewhere.
For once, I agree with CurtainPullerDowner's first post.

The original poster didn't say a thing about anyone being more interested in the merchandise than the actual show itself. S/he just started this thread to ask a question about the specific subject of SA merchandise.
I attend the theatre in New York twice a year. I am always looking to see what merchandise the shows have. (I like t-shirts) And I agree, some people may not be able to get to a show but may enjoy listening to its music (If it is a musical!), reading about it here and elsewhere and would like a t-shirt or hat or whatever they are selling. I had 2 RENT t-shirts before the show went on tour and I saw it in Denver. The money goes to the production (At least part of it I am sure). I don't plan to see Grey Gardens until April and I already got someone to bring me back a t-shirt.
So...what merchandise are they selling at Spring Awakening? There was no merchandise when I saw it at the Atlantic and I really want a t-shirt!!
thanks for all the support guys. =)
it's rough to get bashed about every little thing you post on these messageboards. it's not right to be afraid to post a thread, they are for questions after all.
appreciate it. =)

for the record, to the best of my memory, they had....
1.) Copies of a translation of the original play ($14... includes 10 essays)
2.) Cast recording ($20)
3.) BIG keychains ($10)
4.) Hats
5.) two styles of tees
6.) mugs
I will be curious to see their souvenir programs.
There are the babydolls that are grey and say "Haven't You heard the Word of Your Body"--I believe those are $30? I bought one, I can't remember what I spent...I think 30
then there are black adult sized tees-One that's just Spring Awakening with the logo, and another with "There's a moment you know" and on the back "Your F***ed" (I believe). Those should be $25
Keychains, Poster, Script, a hat..
Pretty much what others have said. I hope that helps....
P.s. I see nothing wrong with buying show merchandise for shows you haven't seen...that's ricockulous

CurtainPullDowner- Why do people care if the male lead and ensemble are shirtless more than the show itself?
Hmm...

I myself deal with the sales and marketing of the Spring Awakening play merchandise. I work for Gold Mountain Entertainment, under Jerrod Wilkins. Jerrod is Duncan Sheiks representative. You can find our merchandice for sale on line at www.springawekeningstore.com. On a more personal note I would like to say that I don't feel like only the people who see the play should be "entitled" to wearing our merchandise. Spring Awakening is also a musical, with music. Some people haven't seen the play but love the music. Are people only allowed to wear band shirts if they went to the concert?? Is theater something where only those who can afford to see it are allowed to support it? I know this is a for profit arts world we live in, but sometimes the non profits know where it’s at. Overall it helps a bad ass performance get out to more viewers.

I am going to be in New York at the end of the month and could not convince those I was going with to go see Spring Awakening. I would love to purchase one of the shirts (THERE'S A MOMENT YOU KNOW...) so I was wondering - do any of those Broadway Shops in New York sell them since I won't be going in the theater.
yep ive seen those shirts in several shops including theater circle right next to the st.james as well as the broadway/new york gift store thats near the starbucks by the mariott hotel/marquis theater
sorry double post
yes, other stores sell them. go to the Broadway New York store by the Marriot hotel (it's kind of "underneath" it, near the marquis theatre i believe)...that's where i got mine :)

I've learned along the way that sometimes it's better to have an idea beforehand of what you'd like to buy or at least what merchandise you want to see in person.
Broadwaynewyork.com has a lot of SA merchandise--shirts, keychains, mugs, etc. and is where I'll go get things if the seller at the show doesn't have my size in something or if the Broadway New York store doesn't have it.
Also...there is the lesser known springawakeningstore.com, which has shirts etc. that are not found anywhere else. For example, they have tees in multiple colors that say "I Don't Do Sadness" and they just got a "My Junk" design.
Anyways, I hope you and your friends can find something you like to commemorate the experience and that you have a wonderful time!
