I am going to New York City the last weekend of January to see the following shows: Spider Man, John Gabriel Borkman, La Cage Aux Follies, and Phantom of the Opera. I'd like to visit the stage door after Phantom (to meet Hugh Panaro, who I have never seen play the Phantom), La Cage, and at the Harvey Bam after John Gabriel to meet Alan Rickman. Can someone tell me where the stage doors are located at these theatres, and if you have waited at them to meet the cast how was the experience?
Thanks for your help!
I'm not 100% sure about LaCage but i suspect that is one of those theatres where the stage door is on the next street (behind) from where the main entrance is.
As for Phantom, the stage door is in some alley on 45th ( i think between the last theatre and the building that ends up on 8th ave) it's an alleyway that has stage doors for like 3 or 4 of those theatres, I;ve never dont it because I think it is somewhat creepy to go into an alley and wait for people, lol. but i've always wanted to.
Thanks, I think I know about that alley you are talking about, I would be to shy to wait at the stage door alone, but I'm going with a few friends.

I did the BAM stage door after Creditors, the last play in which Rickman appeared. I believe the stage door is on Ashland Place - which is a side street next to the theater. One night I went there were only 3 other people and the other night I went (after a talkback) there were 30-40 people. Both occasions, Rickman was more than cordial to his fans.
The stage door at the Longacre is just east of the lobby.
Thank you all for your help. I would love to meet Alan Rickman. My grandmother took me to see my first Broadway play when I was 5 years old. I was Les Liaisons, which he was cast in. I still have the playbill and I am hoping he will sign it for me.
