It helps to specify what show you're talking about in the title of your thread.
From what folks on here (I haven't rushed this show) have said even prior to the Tonys was that it is best to be there between 6 and 7 am, possibly a little later on Sundays if the box office opens later (12 p.m. as opposed to 10 a.m.), which I believe it does.
I know it's a pain in the ass but it's probably worth it.

Posted: 6/21/09 at 9:05pmi was talking about the next to normal line.. i just want to know what it has been like lately because i dont think we will get in the city earlier than 9

First of all, it's general rush at n2n, NOT student.
But yeah...if you're not in before 9, it's highly unlikely that you will get tickets. The report on Friday from someone who walked by at 8:30 was that there were already 22 people on line. With only 26 seats, it's unlikely even all of those people got tickets.

^ Yes, I figured out what line you were talking about...in the posting itself, not the thread title. That's what I'm saying. It's not good communication.
The times I stated above are what I know about the Next to Normal line. Perhaps someone else can corroborate it? You might have a better chance if you go on a two-show day.

Posted: 6/21/09 at 9:31pmYou might have luck with a Wed matinee or if you get really lucky a Tues-Thrs. evening show.
re: student rush#7
Posted: 6/21/09 at 10:01pmThey haven't had Wednesday matinees except maybe one other time. But now they're totally dark on Wednesdays.

Posted: 6/22/09 at 12:44amYeah, that's too early for sure. I mean you'll get tickets no doubt...but in less you want to sit on the hard ground for 4.5 hours, I'd say get a little extra sleep and show up between 6:30 or 7.
re: student rush#11
Posted: 6/22/09 at 6:24amI don't know... Even for a Sunday 5:30 isn't really all that early anymore... I would go with closer to 6 it you're going to be a little later.

Posted: 6/22/09 at 12:24pmAnyone rush a Monday yet since they start doing a show on that day? I am going to attempt next Monday and I'm taking a 5:55 train. I would have never thought I would be getting up that early to head to the city lol
re: student rush#13
Posted: 6/22/09 at 12:26pmI haven't yet, but given the limited number of shows that have Monday shows, I'd imagine it will be just as "bad" as any other day.

Posted: 6/22/09 at 12:44pmYeah thats what I was thinking. Or maybe a lot of people don't know about them having a Monday show yet haha I hope thats the case but I doubt it! I guess well see what happens. I just hope I don't get there at 6:30 and not get tickets.
re: student rush#15
Posted: 6/22/09 at 12:52pmi got to the theater by 7 15 on Friday (June 19th) and was 8th in line and got first row center tickets for the evening performance..however the people in front of us got box seats
re: student rush#16
Posted: 6/22/09 at 12:55pmhow are the box seats compared to the front row seats? I imagine will now get there between 6 and 6:30 lol

Pianolin717
due to the fact that the Booth Theater is on the small side..the boxes should be full view
being polite and respectful to the ticket lady might help..I was and got front row center while the nasty people in front of me got boxes
good luck!

This is really surprising...usually the woman who works in there is very easy going. I've never seen someone be SO rude that she purposely changed the seats. It's usually whatever comes out ~ starting with front row center and then the sides.
Note: I'm not saying it COULDN'T happen...just that they must have been using only four letter words or something extreme like that.

Posted: 6/22/09 at 2:08pmI rushed on Saturday I got their at 6:15 and was 4th in line (first for the Mat), The first people in line got their at 5:30. & they started giving out wristbands at like 7:40, funny thing with the wristbands was their was a group of ppl who, once they got wristbands they left and came back just before 10, I was wondering is that allowed? Also by like 8:15 the line was more than full and people were still lining up. so I got AA101-102 for the Mat which were AWESOME Seats, I got chills and was shaking the show was so amazing. It's a GREAT show and totally worth the wait
Next to Normal Rush#21
Posted: 6/22/09 at 2:19pmIs it not looked favorably upon for people to get the wrist bands and then leave as a) it makes the line appear much shorter for those coming up after the initial distribution and b) god forbid something happen to prevent someone from getting back in time for the box office to open, there could be massive problems with them screaming that they had a wrist band and should get a ticket. In fact, the one Sunday I rushed, they opted not to give out the wrist bands until almost 11 to prevent that mass exodus and the confusion that had reportedly happened the Sunday before. The guy distributing the wrist bands told people that they were strongly encouraged NOT to leave other than a run to the bathroom if absolutely necessary, but there doesn't really appear to be a way to totally prevent people from leaving if they're determined.
