sign up for LincTix. It's a free program and you can get one $30 ticket to each Lincoln Center Theater production (so 1 ticket to War Horse, 1 ticket to the upcoming Other Desert Cities, etc.).

If you follow Lincoln Center Theatre on twitter, they'll occasionally tweet to let people know there's student rush available.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Major BUMP! Has anyone tried this recently? Is it still only reported through their twitter account or do they have it at most performances? Thanks for your help!

I got a ticket through LincTix for the front row. The horse was basically in my lap that was how close it was to me. There was an elevated scene in the 2nd act that I did miss cause I was so low. Best $30 spent in awhile.
