thoughts on overdone audition songs? the nite was alive and if this isnt love?

what do you guys think? the nite was alive from titanic and if this isnt love from finians rainbow. i would love to sing these songs at auditions ive been working on them. your imput would be great. do you think theyre overdone at all?

I guess I need to listen to Finian's Rainbow some more. I thought you meant the Jennifer Hudson song at first...

How would you do "The Night Was Alive" on your own? What makes that song so thrilling for me is the duet section.

I agree the duet section sure is something, but by itself i would do "dit dit dah dit dah, everywhere!" and hold "everywhere" for 8 beats (all big and cresendo-y and full voice) , then repeat "dit dit dah dit dah, everywhere", but very quiet and in falsetto and end the song there.

I wouldn't say those are overdone.. As long as you're not singing On My Own from Les Mis, or Green Finch and Linet Bird, for a classical sounding show, you should be fine
