rumors are circulating about an epic musical based on the graphic novel. it's shrouded in mystery, but i heard whispers about norbert and sutton and that as soon as the green is gone, that bdj is headed for the 80's. it's all so hush-hush.

have a nice day.

I'm fine so long as Beyonce isn't involved.

Can we get Adam Lambert for Rorschach and Ruben Studdard as the fat guy who runs the newsstand?

I have many choices for who should write the score:

Michael Stipe
Duncan Sheik
Leonard Cohen
Tom Kitt
Joe Iconis

I'm completely torn about this. Is this an elaborate joke or "what if," or is it true?

You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor

"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

Oh come on. You cannot do a Watchmen musical without Patty Wilson as Nite Owl II.

It's obviously not true, SweetNAwful. Let me fix that cast for you:

Rorschach: Michael Cerveris
Dan Dreiberg/Nite Owl: Patrick Wilson
Laurie Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre: Stephanie J. Block
Dr. Manhattan: Patrick Page
The Comedian: Marc Kudisch
Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias: Will Chase

With Instant Classics Like:
"Don't Give a F*ck (About the Human Race)": Dr. Manhattan
"A Pretty Bunny (The Psychoanalysis Song)": Rorschach and Psychologist
"Tachyons, Tachyons": Dr. Manhattan
"Bubastis, Baby": Ozymandias
"Rape Me Tender": Sally Juspeczyk and The Comedian
"At Least Your Penis Is Normal-Colored (Love Ballad)": Laurie Juspeczyk and Nite Owl

If you try *not* using Patrick Wilson, there'll be trouble. I love the graphic novel, and had *some* issues with the film, but Wilson was PERFECTLY cast. Although if that's what counts as "chunky" these days, I'm going to have to go on the mother of all diets. O_O

I really don't see Manhattan singing. I think a nice, hopeful "I want" song for Jon would be fantastic, but as soon as he goes blue, he should stop singing. Perhaps you could make a joke of it, have the orchestra start as though he's going to burst into song, then cut it short with a terse line of dialogue every time.

... if Alan Moore is tossing and turning and rolling around in his bed tonight, I suspect it'll be all our fault. ;_;

I couldn't see Patrick reprising his role, seems like it would put a snag in his career. Kinda like if JHud played Effie on Bway.

But in that case, Patrick as Dan and NLB as Rorschach

More songs:
Last Laugh- funeral song
Katies!!!!- mob song
oh and did I mention My Blue Penis is a love ballad John sings to Laurie? Cuz it is

Whoa, with song titles like those, maybe we should get Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas to do the score!

THAT IS THE GREATEST IDEA EVER.

I think for Rorschach's songs to work, you're going to need to get Jim Steinman involved. The few songs I've heard from his unrealised Batman musical are about the only things I could imagine Rorschach singing.
