Posted: 6/5/04 at 4:45pmUgh, I hate that theatre. So much money to make it lavish, but it's really badly designed. And it's CAVERNOUS. I hope they find another theatre (the Elgin, anyone?).

Posted: 6/6/04 at 1:11amWell, BlueWizard, The Gershwin is cavernous, and houses Wicked just fine.

Posted: 6/6/04 at 2:31amYes, Gypsy2, but this is an UGLY cavernous. It's art nouveau gone cheap. Plus, the theatre is in a horrible location - all the way uptown, away from the theatre-and-tourist scene downtown. It's the equivalent of having it play in Brooklyn or Queens.

Posted: 6/6/04 at 10:23amHmm..good question. I suppose Canon or Elgin makes sense since they are both downtown and good musical theatres (and Royal Alex and Princess of Wales are taken by Mamma Mia and Hairspray).

Posted: 6/6/04 at 11:15amwinter garden is too small, remember size of the sets same w the elgin. maybe pantages if Producers vacates early as it seems likely.

Posted: 6/6/04 at 4:59pmA lot will depend on when Producers vacates. If they don't extend then yes I think it will be Canon/Pantages. BUT if they do extend after the PR and special promos on offer.. Nothe York here we come! Yech. ( i agree it is NOT a good theatre, kinda like the old O'Keefe Centre on 'roids)
