I only have Miss Saigon in Japanese, Dutch, German, Hungarian
Aida in Dutch- not quite bad
I've heard Rent in Spanish... well several songs that is
It's always interesting to hear my favorite musicals in these languages... sometimes it's kinda of ugly sounding, like the Hungarian Miss Saigon one...
Anyone have a favorite language they like to hear their shows? or what shows do you want to hear them do a foreign language to?
I would like to hear Hairspray in another language
Les Miserables- i know there are tons out there, I just have never heard them... anyone know where I can hear a clip of it?
Little Shop of Horrors- especially the title song
The Phantom of the Opera
and i'm pretty sure there are others that I can't name right now...

Well, I'm in Australia so I have a fair few Aussie cast recordings from the last 20 or so years...Chicago, Rocky Horror, They're Playing Our Song, Beauty And The Beast,La Cage,Godspell
JCS, Boy from Oz etc.
Foreign language stuff? The Italian They're Playing Our Song, the German La cage is pretty good, but my favourite has to be the Icelandic Little Shop of Horrors...it's hilarious!
There used to be quite a lot of South African show albums about but I seldon see these much now. Don't they do them anymore?

A German La Cage and a German A Chorus Line, bought because they had extra dance music that wasn't on the OBC.
I'd be fascinated to hear a Russian Chicago! (Rox-ski?)
I've not heard any South African cast albums (although they'd be in English) but I've always wanted to hear Libby Morris in Gypsy.

Posted: 1/8/05 at 12:41pmOne of the best is the Berlin production of "The Hunchback Of Notre Dame", called "Der Glockner Der Notre Dame". They had to call it the "bell ringer" of Notre Dame beacause in German "hunchback" is a terrible insult. This is album is great, Alan Menken's best in my opinion, and well worth owning.
