I think Little Shop is going to be a great hit. Hunter Foster has an amazing voice. I thinks its almost better than Rick Moranis's voice. However both the actors are very talented. The show has many good numbers. My favorite number is the Dentist. Especially movie with Steve Martin, he is hilarious. The guy that plays the part in the show is very talented. I think the show will stay for quite a good while. Who knows? it could win Best Musical the 2004 Tony Awards.

LSOH will run for a while. I'm sure it will pick up a Tony somehow and at least last through next summer.

The show has a cult following and that should keep it running through the holidays. It may not survive the January slump.

When we went for tickets in August, they were selling them until January 3rd. Originally, I think the block was until February. I am going 1/3.

My review-
I saw the show today, and WOW! The show was absolutely marvelous. I didn't expect it to be so spectacular, but the special effects were great, and the actors were superb. Kerry may have had a LITTLE bit of Penny's personality still within her, but she was astonishing, and sung the role beautifully. She has GREAT comedic timing, as does Hunter who was miraculous. My gosh- he was so great. Douglas Sills was phenomenal as well with all of his roles-hehe. Rob Bartlett gave a great performance as well, and the Three girls blew me away. What presence and voice. They were all absolutely phenomenal. The technical aspect of the show was great as well. The storm/rain was done very well, and the sets were awe-inspiring. I LOVED the shop, and the buildings that the girls contstantly were singing from. The plant was absolutely astounding. At the end- WOW! I won't spoil it, but the plant is so great. I love the technical aspect of the show, and each performance was wonderful in its own right. I just loved it, and there should be a lot of Tony noms for this show, if not wins. Each performer is deserving of a nomination. Too bad the Ronettes can't be nominated, or can they? Hmmm.... But everyone should get a chance to see it. It's comedic as hell, romantic, gives great performance and offers great sets and lighting. It's one of my new favorites currently on Broadway! Updated On: 10/12/03 at 09:01 PM

There's a pull quote for the ads:

Billy Lawlor gives Little Shop 6 "Amazings."

Wow, that's five amazings. I thought the show was awesome. More awesome than amazing. Didn't you think it was awesome too?

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

What's the point in bringing attention to how many times Billy used "amazing" in his post? Maybe he did find 5 or 6 different things to be amazed about in the show. He's young, and enthusiastic for heaven's sake! Leave him alone. And don't shoot me any crap about how he should have a more extensive vocabulary. This is the way he probably speaks in general, and you know what? I understood everything he said, and I enjoyed his review of the show. And if that is how he chooses to express his enthusiasm, well good for him! With that said, Billy I am glad you enjoyed the show. I felt the same way you did about the show. Keep on keepin' on my young friend.

Cheers,
The Balladeer

I've seen the movie, and I watched a video clip about it on Broadway.com, and I don't like it from what I've seen, but I've heard so many good things about it I'm sure I'd change my mind if I saw it.

Just a suggestion to save bandwidth, no need to hit enter 147 times before you post. All that empty space reminds me of some of the crania around here. Speaking of which, Ballad-dear, I bet you were the hall monitor in grade school, even if unofficially.

Wow- it really shocks me that the people on this board have nothing better to do than count the amount of times I say a show is amazing. You guys really know how to kill a kid's enthusiasm.

Billy,

I know for a fact that you are a very intelligent young man. However, when you--or anyone else-- uses the words "Awesome" or "Amazing", it makes you sound foolish. Those words are extremely overused in today's world. I realize that you have a good command of the English language, so why don't you apply it to your postings? Remember, you have those college essays coming up soon and if you use "Awesome" or "Amazing" in those letters, your application will not be looked on favorably. Think of every posting you make here as sharpening your writing skills.

Prove to others that you really are both intelligent and personable.

Fondly,

Uncle Dollypop

What do you expect. All I remember from that "makeover" story with Sutton and her sister-in-law, was the amount of times they used the words "awesome" and "amazing"! That was truly upsetting. Balladeer, dear, you seem to have this bizarre need to defend and even *commend* stupidity and mediocrity. Why is that? We should demand that our youth expand their mental horizons, so to speak. What's the good in keeping them dumb? Namo, again I say, pearls before SWINE!

Al and Namo, you were once young, immature, and even ignorant. All you're doing right now is making me think you are still little immature kids, because you're attacking someone because they loved a show. Is it so hard to believe that someone could find something truly amazing? Maybe the word is overused, maybe Billy was overusing it, but why in God's name do we care? Al, I have a feeling more people will agree with Billy's review than yours.

Al, I like you, but seriously, why the hell was it upsetting to hear Sutton say awesome so many times? Are you that emotionally attached to a large voccabulary? Don't you think you're being riduculous about getting all excited because of someone's word choice? See Dollypop appraoched the same situation in an adult-like manner. Why do you preach about immaturity, when you don't know what it is?

I am a fan of Sutton's first of all, so let's get that out of the way. My post had NOTHING to do with the merits, or lack thereof, of LS. I'm done beating that dead horse. I was pointing out to Namo and Etoile that they shouldn't expect too much from the teen posters on this board if their grown B'way gals speak the same way. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less, okay?

I understand what you mean, DollyPop- Thank you for explaining it to me rather than ridiculing me- I wish I could say the same for others on this board. I edited my review. Now there is not One "amazing" in my post. Updated On: 10/12/03 at 05:37 PM

To Al Dente, and Namo et al... BroadwayGirl eloquently explained my need to comment on your criticisms of others, and my need to "defend". I sure as heck was not going to explain myself to you or anyone else again on this board. As far as I'm concerned, you can go on and knock yourself out worrying about the grammatical errors and expressions of others on a message board. I am in no way supporting ignorance or contributing to the lack of our younger posters expanding and broadening their horizons. I just find it ridiculous that out of an otherwise very entertaining and sincere review, the only comment that could have been made was pointing out how many times the word "amazing" was used. That, I find to be ignorant. Instead of ridiculing, you should be encouraging younger posters to express their opinions. And now you want to come across as if you genuinely care about the way they express themselves. If you really cared, you would have responded in the manner Dollypop did, and explained what was wrong, (if you would call it wrong) with Billy's post. You can make comments about my "defending" of others, and try to make sly comments about my intelligence or whatever makes you feel good. To me, you still look very ignorant and immature, and you can post whatever you want about me until the cows come home. Again, grow up.
