Hi guys! I am going to be in NY Sept 9-18 and I could use your help on what to that is theatre related while there. Of course I know there are all the show on and off Broadway, but I hoping to find out about other things like what are the good cabaret?s or Broadway stars doing concerts or Seth?s chatter box. Things like that
Thanks for your help! :)

Lucky Cheng's is a great drag queen cabaret with overpriced Asian food.

According to Seth's Chatterbox website he is having a show on September 10 but no guest has been announced. Keep an eye on the website but don't be surprised if they don't be surprised if the guest doesn't get announced until the day before or not at all.
This coming Sunday is Broadway on Broadway in Times Square. You, definitely, should not miss that free event. The concert starts at 11:30am but people start lining up long before that so the early bird gets the worm in regards to how close you are to the stage.
Christine Ebersole is at Feinstein's starting on Tuesday and will be there for the rest of the week. Next week Jon Secada is there from Tuesday-Saturday.
Every Monday night is the Cast Party at Birdland at 9:30pm. Never know who will show up. Miranda Sings will be there Monday, September 14 at 7pm

Not really Broadway related but, Titanic: The Exhibition on 44th between 7th and 8th is phenomenal. I highly recommend it.
They have many real artifacts and reconstructed state rooms, hallways, and the grand staircase and this exhibit also allows you to get a really close look at the ship.

You're actually coming at a decent time for Broadway related stuff.
This website gives theater related activities going on all month long. It also gives discounts for area restaurant, if you are interested. It's a promotion called Back2Broadway month.

I second madbrian's suggestion of Accomplice: NY. It's fantastic fun even if you're a seasoned NYC visitor -- and there is certainly a theatrical element to it.

Letterman would say you're a little early for Frozen Spit Season in New York. I used to recommend a bracing chase down 42nd Street but they cleaned up the area. However, you can still get flipped off by a New York Cabbie but now, sadly, unless you speak a language from East Asia or an obscure Eastern European dialect, the experience loses something in the translation. Perhaps visit Ground Zero which, last time I was there, seemed to have been turned into a hawker's paradise (hope that's been cleaned up) and there's always the opportunity to win some big money from those guys playing Three Card Monte - they have no idea what they're doing. Enjoy!

There's the library at Lincoln Center. It's most famous for the Theatre On Film And Tape Archive (you might want to make an appointment to watch something - you have to give an official "purpose" for watching, but "research for a production" is legitimate and technically not even a lie.)
But in addition to the videos there are clippings files of old articles and playbills. If there's an old show you're curious about, look it up in the card catalogs and they'll probably have files of articles, photographs, and playbills. If you're a research nerd who loves the smell of old newspapers and books, it would be a fun way to spend an afternoon. I once went through the "Hair" files, which is a decent-sized box full of old magazine and newspaper articles from the late '60s and is very cool.
