First professional show: the Carousel national tour with Patrick Wilson & Jennifer Laura Thompson as Curly & Julie!! That was probably when I was about 9...I think.
First Broadway show: Kiss Me, Kate revival with BSM & Marin Mazzie!!
THE KING AND I (1977 revival) - Nov 1, 1977 (Day after they recorded the cast album)
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Mine was Guys and Dolls with Nathan Lane I think in 1992 or 1993. It was my first time in the US and my first show. It got me hooked forever. Thank you Nathan.

ummmmmm...Show Boat with Rebecca Luker in 1994. I think I was 5 or 6, and it was my sister's favorite. The next day we saw Les Mis, which was my favorite. Quite a trip.

I'm going to make Stonewall feel much better about being older:
Henry Fonda in Our Town, December 26, 1969
High school drama club trip. After the performance we went backstage to meet Fonda.
Miss Saigon in 98
Fiddler On The Roof '91
My first show and the whole family went. I was about 6. I remember being scared of Fumisara flying around and my grandmother yelling at the old ladies behind us for complaining that I was moving around too much. HAHA memories.

My first professional theatre experience was seeing the First National Tour of CATS in Chicago during middle school (3x).
My first Broadway experience was the summer of 86 seeing the original casts of Starlight Express and Les Miserables. Seeing Les Miz with the originals was incredible and so nice to experience before it became cliche.

FOOTLOOSE national tour. First city of the first tour. Starring Joe Machota. Matthew Morrison and many others were in the ensemble. I didn't save my program.
My first stage door experience was with the RENT tour in March 2002.
My first show ON Broadway was RENT in April 2004.

I haven't read the entire thread yet but I am sure someone will kindly post links to similar threads.
Nevertheless, I don't mind repeat threads.
My first broadway show was some magic show in 1974. I don't remember much about it except I was six and I freaked at the lady being cut in half.
Some 25 years later I returned to Broadway and saw CHENO in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown followed by Beauty and the Beast.
B & B had Toni Braxton. Boy, was I shocked to see someone on Broadway who was simply AWFUL!

The first time that I've ever heard of Broadway was when I heard that Raffi (yes, the bearded guy with the guitar) had a brief concert on Broadway. I only saw the video of that performance, but later, I heard that Disney was putting Beauty and the Beast on the Great White Way. So that was my very first Broadway show: Disney's Beauty and the Beast with the original cast (Susan Egan, Terrence Mann, Gary Beach, Tom Bosely and Burke Moses) on my birthday in...err...1994, I believe, and there were no understudies!! Ever since then, I've become a big bad bootylicious Broadway buff, baby! (What a lot of B's!)
Raisin at the 46th Street Theatre in 1974.
CATS. It was either 1990 or 1991.
But my first Broadway memory was seeing Mary Martin's taped version of "Peter Pan."
Peter Pan in 91' or 92 I belive....and I have seen 64 since then

Bluemoon, I appreciate your gallantry, and I've always denied the rumor that you were in 'Our American Cousin' the night Lincoln got shot. LOL
