which show?

so, for spring break, my mom asked me if I would rather see dear evan hansen on broadway and waitress on broadway or hamilton in chicago and I'm having trouble deciding. I really love all three, but I've been hearing mixed reviews about hamilton chicago lately. any suggestions??

Dear Evan Hansen for sure. You'll be seeing most of the OBC and the fabulous Taylor Trensch.

Hard to say, as we don't know anything about you.  Age, favorite shows, least favorite shows, how many opportunities you have.

(And isn't Hamilton already sold for next spring?)

Instead of adding one to the endless amounts of these threads, I'm going to ask for opinions here.

I'm trying to decide between 3 shows, and those are:

Dolly/w Bernadette - I quite like Hello, Dolly! and love Bernadette. 

Once on This Island - The cast album of this show impressed me least, but the clips we've gotten of these revival look stellar, adding the reviews and my love of Lea Salonga this is a solid choice.

Carousel - My favorite "show" based of cast albums out of the three, and I know no one knows what this production will be, but was wondering how to show holds up live.

Any opinions are appreciated !

I know that Hamilton is most likely going to keep running for a while, plus it's going to keep expanding (longer tours, more community productions) and I believe Dear Evan Hansen is planning on touring North America in the near future, so I'd suggest Waitress.

Is the choice seeing both DEH and Waitress in NYC or Hamilton in Chicago? If so, the twofer in NYC is the easy pick.

Lifeboat - Everything listed above is stellar so it’s really Sophie’s Choice. But I will say I saw Hamilton in Chicago in Broadway and was blown away. It’s my favorite show. Nothing will ever touch the OBC, but I was able to enjoy the show even more this time. When I saw it in NYC in 2015, I paid concierge re-sell prices for the last row of rear mezzanine and was in constant knee pain. It was nice to have an affordable Orchestra Seat (even at Ticketmaster re-sell prices) with leg room and an awesome view. Being more familiar with the show and not in pain, I was able to relax. As a result, I was more emotionally involved and was moved to tears often throughout the show this time.

Having said that, as much as I loved Chicago, NYC is still my favorite city. Also, two for one special. Yay! And then I’d ask which shows have you not seen before? If you’ve seen Ham before but not DEH and Waitress then I’d go for the novel over the known. Let us know what you decided!
