which show to see?? opinions needed!

Hi everyone. I'm new here and i just had a quick question. Im planning a trip to New York and I'm having a little trouble deciding between shows so... In your opinion, which show is better? South Pacific or Rock Of Ages. I have never seen either but I have heard great things about both. Thanks!

I did not see ROA but did see SP. You cannot go wrong with any R & H show especially this production.

That is comparing apples and oranges. While both shows have their fans, they are TOTALLY different shows. Hard to make a recommendation without knowing more about what kind of shows you like.

i know that they are completely different. At some point or another I plan on seeing both, but unfortunately i do not make enough money for that right now . So all i want to know is which show is more worth seeing. I only get to Broadway once or twice a year.

I would recommend South Pacific because it is such a classic. If you are in the city for a few days I would also try to do lottery for Next to Normal or another less popular (but still GREAT!) show. That way you can see two shows and not spend too much money :)

If it might be the only show you get to see all year- definately South Pacific.

Okay South Pacific it is then :). Thanks for the advice everyone!! and to Jennifer252, i saw Next To Normal on my last trip and loved it. But lottery is a great idea. I'll check it out when I go.

Oh my bad I didn't mean it like that. I meant, lottery/general rush wise, it's easier to win as opposed to say, Hair, Wicked, and Billy Elliot. It's a great show and one of my all-time favorites don't get me wrong! I worded my previous comment wrong.

Hello! As Fanb said, these shows are both very different. If you really want the full theatre/Broadway experience, then see South Pacific. If you just want some fun light entertainment, then see Rock of Ages
