Hey Gymdudeva--I so agree about Robi. I saw the show Fri Night and he was filling in for JBW who is on Vacation. He was terrific as HANSHEN-in great voice and had excellent chemistry with Gideon. I do hope this is just a rumor, or if he is leaving, it will be on his own accord. Either way, he will be greatly missed.
He's leaving. I don't know if he was fired or if he chose to leave, but I can assure you that after the 25th Robi will not be in SA again. He's leaving. For good.

So much for keeping his departure on the down low. I want to know how anyone else knew this.
Why is this supposed to be some huge secret?
Robi did not, but someone else in the cast did. And they already have his replacement.
sad sad times. i hate when people leave shows that i love, but i wish them all luck just the same...

Does anyone know how the Equity auditions are going this week?Is it possible for a non-equity person to get in and/or does anyone know if there will be future non-equity auditions for the Tour next Fall? If you've auditioned for SA, share your experience. Anyone been cast for the Tour?

Yesterday's auditions were postponed.

I don't think they have done any casting for the tour yet. I have a feeling there won't be any non eq auditions for a longggggg time, after all the open calls.

ummm to try to help the answer about if Groff is leaving or not he said in an interview he wants to stay until they kick him out. Yeah, i know people change their minds and being a performer myself i know you get tired of playing the same role over and over but i have a feeling Groff will stay with SA for awhile.

The standard answer the cast is giving right now is, they have a contract until Novemeber. JGallagher has also said he would stay until they kick him out, but recently he told me that he doesn't know what will happen. He would like to stay past Novemeber. And he is in contract Negotiations. Sept may bring word on who is staying or leaving.

If J Groff decides to leave they have a replacement for him who was originally their second choice in casting the show.
Now I'm confused. How's it going to work if Robi and Gideon are both leaving after the 25th AND Matt Doyle's going to LA to record the BARE album... I assume that Blake will step in for Gideon, but who's going to be sitting in the second chair?

I heard that when something like that happens, the adult male understudy fills in that empty chair. If there are even further absences, they just have one less ensemble member in the chairs. That is what I was told, anyway.
I should've been more detailed in my post - I know that they sometimes have the Adult Male U/S sit in, I've been there when it's happened before, but Stephen Spinella is out for August so the Adult Male U/S is on for him too. Maybe it will be an empty seat, but maybe there's a new ensemble member waiting in the wings...
