I don't want to contribue to rumors, because, I don't reall "know" Robbi. I worked on "Side Show" with him a year ago at the Westchester Broadway Theatre, and someone in that show with us told me that he had been fired.
I can't imagine why, but, that's the rumor I've heard. Not sure if there's any truth to it or not.

Okay, I saw the show on Thursday and want to clarify the whole Skylar and Phoebe thing. I have been talkin to Skylar about his involvement with "Next To Normal" for months. When he came over at the stage door, he said he was in meetings with the new director. No offers have been made to him or Phoebe (and Phoebe hasn't even ahd a meeting, due to her vacation). He said they have gone for callbacks and are probably of interest to the new director, but nothing is official and he does not want to jinx it. In addition, he followed up by saying he is unsure whether he will leave because the salary may not allow it.

I refuse to call Feeling Electric Next To Normal. As much as I would like Phoebe and Skylar to do Feeling Electric, I definitely know why they wouldn't. I doubt they would leave a Broadway show for an off-broadway show, which means much less money then they are now making.

Have people forgotten about Lea's longing to play Eponine in Les Miserables? I doubt the Elphaba rumors are true (she even blogged about them being false on her myspace) and her dream role is to play Eponine. She already has turned down the role once for her current project, which in various interviews she has revealed that it was one of the hardest decisions of her life. Now that she has chosen to take Spring Awakening to the "final step" as I remember her explaining it, my best bet would be that she will go back and do Eponine. I mean, she has already been offered the role once, why wouldn't they ask her to come back again? Especially now that she has gain a bit more fame.

why wouldn't they ask her to come back again?
Because they probably won't boot Megan McGinnis out for her?

When Robi does leave, it has nothing to do with him being fired.

Lauren's contract is through November.
Robi is indeed leaving on the 25th of August.

So much for keeping his departure on the down low. I want to know how anyone else knew this.

Someone told me he's going on a paid vacation (like Matt Saldivar in TWS last year)... is this true?

Is John G. leaving anytime soon? He's got himself quite a fanbase now.. Like he did a talk with the Broadway Alliance thing.. after winning that Tony I think he's really big..
I wouldn't be surprised if he were to leave soon..
Anyone heard about Groff?

I bet Gallagher will leave before Groff does. Groff is more musical theatre where I feel like Gallagher could take off and do anything...film...television...going HUGE with his band.

That's true..
Shoot me for this if you like, but is Groff really that good? He just kind of seems to say his lines... well.. I'm sure his character is absolutely awful to play (meaning challenging) but.. gah, I don't know what I'm trying to say.
I can't wait for more Gallagher! He's so adorable.

Reply to : Lickthelightbulb...I spoke to John. He has a contract through Novemeber. And if the negotiations go well, maybe past that. He loves SA and really would like to stay.

Well, didn't someone say her contract is until October or November? And thought Les Mis was extended until October.

I would like to know what is the case with Robi. The rumor is he got fired. I hope it is not true and if he is indeed leaving it is on his own accord. Being fired can be very damaging to ones's career. Wishing him the best of luck!

I've never seen Robi in a name role (just as ensemble), but from what I've heard he's OK as a swing. Doesn't seem like he'd be replaced for artistic reasons, 8 months and umpteen Tonys into the run....Maybe he wanted the Ernst role, and when he didn't get it, decided to move on to a new project...I hope nothing bad happened to precipitate his leaving...
We don't speak often, but I am friends enough with Robi to call him up, but....how do you ask about something like this? "Hey, I heard a rumor on the Internet that you were FIRED!"
It won't be the same without him sitting there all cute in his jacket in the front row on-stage.
[spoiler below]
I love the moment when in "Touch Me" the song soars and he (and the other ensemble kids) whip out their microphones and join in. *goose bumps*
