Ok I searched a swear...so if a similar post is floating around somewhere I'm sorry.
Won the Wicked lotto this afternoon and saw Lisa Bresca and Allie Mauzey as Elphaba and Glinda. I'd seen Lisa as Elphaba the last time I saw Wicked and really liked her. She is excellent. What do people think of Allie? I thought she did a really nice job! I was a little worried toward the beginning because some of the lines that Kendra had made so funny weren't quite as amusing with Allie; however, her version of Popular was hilarious! And from there on out I thought she was on and got more laughs. Her voice is wonderful and acting quite good. She really got emotional at the end when her and Elphaba were singing their last song together (the name of the song is escaping me right now). It was great. Also as a pair, I thought Lisa and Allie were stronger. Their chemistry was AMAZING!!! You could tell they probably rehearsed together more (both being the stand-bys) than when I saw Kendra and Lisa.
Overall I think I might prefer Kendra a little more as Glinda, but Allie did do a wonderful job and I would definitely not be at all disappointed if I were to go again and Allie was on.
Lastly, does anyone know if Julia is on vacation or sick? I know Kendra is on vacation this week, but I was surprised Julia was out again, as I'd just seen her stand-by in for her a few weeks ago too.
I'm so glad you liked the show! Yes, Lisa is AMAZING! I'm glad you liked Allie as well! I am guessing that Julia was sick, because she recently just had her vacation.(She went to Italy.) Thanks for posting!
The song you forgot the name of is most likely "For Good"
Does anyone know if Julia was back in the show today - Sunday 8/12?
Man, I think Julia is allergic to that show. LOL.
funny post because when I won the Wicked Lottery about a month ago Julia was also out as Elphaba but her replacement which I am guessing was Lisa was amazing. Is Julia typically out of the show???
No Julia isn't typically out of the show...she was probably sick or on vacation...
Really, Millie? It just seems every other time she's mentioned on this site it's because she didn't go on.
Don't get me wrong, I love her (seeing her is what got me posting here in the first place). But it's like I said above, I think she's allergic to the show!
Julia rarely misses. You also have to remember...Wicked isn't the be all and end all of her career either. She does a LOT of readings as well. Producers, directors, and composers LOVE HER and use her for a TON on stuff. She was prolly missing because of a new project.
double post
Triple...eww
my comp went ape **** on me
::my comp sucks at life::
Hey, I'm only repeating what I've read on these boards. Readings and producers' opinions of her have nothing to do with the topic at hand. Not sure where that was coming from...
It just seems like half the people here on BWW who saw Wicked recentley (in NY) saw the understudy. I remember reading on here that she missed a day or two the week before I came AND the week after. You don't have to take my word for it. Just run a search.
