hey everyone ..
first time posting here, and since you are all quite knowledgeable on all sorts of subjects, i figured i would ask a question here.
i finally got tickets to see wicked but in january 2005 - after idina leaves, unfortunately. im sure JLA will still be there (correct me if i am wrong?), but does anyone have any thoughts, or news, on who could be replacing idina?
thank you much.

Posted: 7/23/04 at 7:21pmno one is sure yet who is replacing Idina. Jen's contract lasts until april. I have heard rumors that Stephanie J. Block was replacing Idina, but you really can't go by those.

Posted: 7/23/04 at 10:22pmI know many will shoot me from this, but from the clips of her first performance, I hope they don't end up with Eden coming back (also, though that would mean Bklyn failed, so we don't want that either). Jennifer is in until April, at least.

Posted: 7/23/04 at 10:26pmI agree. The girl can sing, but she is just not Elphie to me.

Posted: 7/23/04 at 10:29pmEden tries to make her voice too thick by straining it, and it goes flat. Idina has a much thinner tone (it's too thin on the CD, though: much better in person), which is what you need to sing that high. She's really young, if she's studying, she will get it. Maybe Elphaba in ten years. She definitely sounds like she has the acting chops. She also went really nasal on "No Good Deed," when she sing, "Or just seeking attention."
