Exactly, Robbie!!! In the theater, Kristin was a hoot in the number, very funny and loopy. But on the TODAY shoot, she seemed warmer and more human in her consideration and care of Idina. "Here, look. You're beautiful."

Both women looked gorgeous. Whoever dressed & madeup Kristin for the MUSIC MAN should have their Union Card revoked.

THANK YOU, MASTER!!!

She looked like a Gelfling in that misguided Music Man!!

Good points,Master and Robbie. They both looked incredible. Idina really has an underlying sexy thing going (noted elsewhere on this board recently). And what cheekbones. And Kristin really was warmer -- more colors, including palpable empathy -- than she is in the show. Another reminder, chemistry has to "set," as a performance rhythm is found. Also, they seemed to be pitching it all for the camera, which was appropriate. I just wish they'd move the numbers indoors when the weather gets too nasty.

I agree.. you could really feel the chemistry they have...

poor cheno.. Idina had a jacket.. Cheno didn't.. during the performance Idina even had a long sleeve shirt on under her costume. Cheno didn't

To me it looked like they were conjested with just two people. They way they moved just didn't work out. And Namo...what were you talking about? It was raining and the only people watching were lined up right at the gate. In general, the performance was good, but I cannot wait for "Defying Gravity" on the 18th. TheaterBaby--My mom taped it for me because I was at school and when I got home I watched it 4 times in a row! haha.

Let me start by saying I saw the show a few weeks ago and LOVED it! Both Kristin and Idina were phenomenal!! I was however a bit disappointed with the performance on the Today Show. Firstly, it didn't give Idina a chance to show the audience her talents (which I know she will get to do on Letterman). But it almost seemed awkward watching her just sit there knowing she wasn't going to get a chance to perform. Secondly - and keep in mind I adore Kristin-- but she was somewhat off tempo and off key several times throughout the song. If I hadn't seen the show already I don't think I would choose to go see it based on what I saw on the Today Show this morning.

The Today show appearances are rarelt standout because of teh show's production..... but WICKED did good on their own.. just like Hairspray... cast was fab.. Today Show values were bad

First thing I did when I got home was watch it. I thought the song itself was horrible. Kristin did a good job with it but the song was almost unsaveable. Looking foward to Letterman.

Idina was wonderful on the Today Show without having to belt. She is also a fine actress and she totally hooked me without singing a note. I would have enjoyed the number a lot less if it had just been Kristen singing in front of a microphone. That's not to slight Kristen, I like her and think she is also a very talented performer. But the women together make the moment for me.

The performance was good, but I didn't get the same "WOW" feeling I got when I saw it in Wicked. I was going to go to the today show to see them live, but I thought there was going to be a huge crowd there! re: re: wicked on today Now I'm sorry I didn't go. I attend school right down the block; I could have just gone in a little earlier and seen Kristin and Idina perform. I honestly did not think they were going to perform outside in the rain. I was rather upset that they didn't receive a bigger applause. re: re: wicked on today

Ya, I guess the camera angles were what made the blocking look bad. The Today Show has a bad rep for Broadway performances. The Letterman Show should be better.

You will NEVER get the same "WOW" you get in the audience as watching on tv...Its a stage musical, its not intended for tv and will never translate the same way...Like I LOVE Hairspray and YOu cant stop the beat is soooo fun live but when I saw it on the Tonys I was like "ehh, it was okay"!
