Gross last week was so low that it must be hurting them bigtime. 50% discounts available on a Saturday night!!! (and its not like the O'Neill is a big theatre. When will it all end?

Last I heard they are hoping to stay on through the summer. Of course that doesn't mean they will, but they've held on so far even which such low numbers

I remember reading that tickets were on sale through September 4, but I cannot imagine the show lasting that long.

I saw the show when it was workshopped last Summer in Poughkeepsie and I saw it again on Broadway. I've got to tell you that even without costumes or sets, it was better in Poughkeepsie (much more energy and the girl who played the lead was much, much better). They should close it now and let a decent show into the space (BTW saw All Shook Up on saturday night - now that was REAL fun)

Yes yes yes but what about the CAST ALBUM? EVERY SHOW DESERVES A CAST ALBUM AND this show needs one right away and I wrote the Producers and they said they would put one out as soon as they could!!!!!

I would guess there are meetings going on right now trying to determine how much it will cost to stay running till the Tony Nominations are announced...and what, if any, nominations they have a shot at.

Yes, the show will make it through tonys it has been in 60's and 70's percent every week with a decent advance. It had one bad week below 50%. The show is still making enough money to stay open.

Maybe yes; maybe no. Still, I'd like to hear what Sinenomine (who claims he is close to the producers) has to say about it? He was bigging it up but with all their advertising and appearances on TV shows etc, it just limping along and can barely be making money.

There was this big article in the Bew York Times about how Dodgers are in real trouble - they've had to sack 75% of their staff and have moved out of their luxurious penthouse Broadway offices (with a roof garden) into some rat-infested little place in a side street facing some garages. One of the original reviews said how they were just cynically exploiting everyone putting out such a bum show - looks like what went around's coming round.

So where is it going anyway? The only way they'll get a Tony is to kidnap the committee's family and hold them hostage. Why don't they just close it now and put everyone out of their pain? The show is an abomination anway.

Frankly, I'm surprised they haven't tried Star Casting for this. This is the perfect show for a washed up American Idol personality or bygone T.V. name...

As much as I enjoyed the show, with this weeks #'s:

$191,000 gross with 42% attendance, I can't see it making the Tonys, but perhaps the nomination announcement.

My guess is that they're waiting for the Tony nominations, hoping (in vain, I think) to get a "Best Musical" nomination. They won't get it, and then they'll post their closing notice.

i think thats sad...cuz i saw it late march and I thought it was really good. It's a shame no one likes it. But I guess if you're not a beach boys fan, its pointless, but I liked the original songs too. Thats a bummer.

if this show last through the summer i'll cry.
just because that means that it ran longer than other phenominal shows such as caroline or change.
and for good vibrations to run longer than caroline would seem a shame.

I have no idea why this has lasted as long as it has. I doubt this has any hope for ANY tony awards of any substance. I pray this thing shuts down soon if only to open another theatre for the possibility of good new theatre. Hell, i'll take mediocre theatre compared to GV.

It's not that bad. Saw it twice, it was fun. What's the big rush to close it? What's pounding on the door waiting to get in?
