i just checked playbill.com, and it says wicked is down to 98.4% after being at 100% for at least a couple of months. are people losing interest finally, or was it just a fluke and a bad week?
I doubt sales are going to immediately start dropping off, and this week was probably more on the fluke side of things, but once Idina leaves it'll probably start to drop more noticeably and permanently.
Hilda, Hilda, wake up! I've invented a maneuver.
Oh My God! It's down an incredible 1.6%, the world must be coming to an end.
Oh please, get a life!
Oh christ, if you're going to make fun of Wicked at least be funny about it.

I'm personally very concerned for Wicked. I really hope there's not a closing date coming up anytime soon.
Are you serious? There are shows running at 34% and you are worried about a show with almost 99% of their tickets sold?
I was joking.
So, Pab loses this round.

What's to lose? You can never tell with some of the obsessed Wicked fanatics out there. I liked the show but I won't take anything that is said on this board about the show as a joke after reading some of the hundreds of post by people who really take all of this must too serious.
Like I said, at least make it amusing. If you're blatant about it, it's no fun. And if you turn out to be wrong (which you were) you don't end up looking like an idiot (which... you did). But if you have your fun at their expense and they don't even realize it, no one loses.

Trolling 101, or something.

Look, you post the way you want to and I'll post the way that I want to. I don't need the posting police to tell me what to say or how to say it, so thank you very much.
wow I cant stop laughing at that
We really dont need a Wkd update every 5 min

Listen I have the Wicked cast recording
I have tix to see the show in Oct
and yes there are parts I like and dispise
However
I am seeing the show to see what all the buzz is about and make my own judgement
Furthermore
I did not like the show for a long time and refused to even mention it because of the overly excessive post
but seriosly START USEING THE SEARCH
we talked about this last week

Just the September blues. Typical this time of year.
grosses Post
I was SO tempted to start a thread about this titled something like "Wicked in Trouble" or some such, but alas I see there is no need.
Dare I say it, without provoking the wrath of many, that Idina's departure won't affect the show a whit. If WICKED falls below 100% in January (as it did last year -- I know, because I was given last minute freebies) it will be winter doldrums, not casting issues. This show will never be cast-dependent; the show is the star.
That's what they said about The Producers and look what happened there.
We're all hysterical about 98.4%??? Seriously???
Auggie, you're absolutely right. "Wicked" is the star of Wicked and as long as you have two above average singers/actresses in the roles, there won't be a problem. Didn't hurt an iota when Chenoweth left and it won't hurt a bit when Menzel leaves. Not that either one is a household name but Chenoweth is far more "popular" than Menzel and it didn't make a dent when she left.
maybe people are finally starting to realize just how stupid the show is, and that it's totally not worth spending the money (or the waste of a good evening in the theatre) to see it.
Now that's wishful thinking Redhot.
yes it is. though I'd hate to see all those performers out of a job, I'd rather that show would close and make room for some intelligent and thought provoking theatre.

Of course the show is the star. Kristin Chenoweth is not an A list celebrity.
Neither is Menzel or anyone currently starring in a hit show, and no Brooke sheilds is most definitely not A-list.
Brooke Shields is known by millions more people than Kristin Chenowith.
its only off 1.6% geez get a grip. most other shows are much lower the wicked. this is a traditionally low time of year so i would say 98.4% is pretty damn good!!
b-way buff - ummm - don't take it so seriously.
