Ok, I havent been keeping up with any posts on this show, but was anyone else compelled to sing along with the lyrics to the Macarena at certain points?

As much as I enjoyed myself, I dont think I enjoyed it for the right reasons!!

And not so much a fan of the big video screens. It was nice in some ways- the smooth scene transitions and it allowed for a broad backdrop- but the train stuff was kinda cheesy and it just seemed wrong in what is otherwise a fairly dated period piece.

I ducked as well...

Were you on the far left? The first time I saw the show, in London, I was in the dress circle, somewhat in the center. Even at that distance the train made me jump. The next time I was in the front row, and even though I knew it was coming, I still jumped.

I was at opening night tonight (my first opening night ever!) and I have to agree, I LOVE this musical.

Before the show, I stood behind all the cameramen and photographers to get a glimpse of some celebrities. The ones I saw were Jerry Mitchell, Dr. Ruth, Michael Feinstein, Michelle Lee and Barbara Walters. They all looked fabulous.

This was my second time seeing the show (see my first review here https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.cfm?thread=874485#1566097 ) but my first time seeing it with Maria Friedman. I can't say enough about this woman. How she managed to go through breast cancer surgery and still pull off that performance tonight is just incredible. Her voice was right on, acting was perfect, amazing facial expressions...WOW. The show was even better than I remembered it from 12 days ago. At the curtain call, while zillions of flashes were going off, Andrew Lloyd Weber came out of the wings with a bouquet of roses for Maria. The entire cast was definitely pulling for her and supporting her and I am *so glad* she was able to be well enough to perform on opening night. Congrats to the entire cast and crew...I hope this show runs for a long long time.

I didn't duck, and we were in the second row. Didn't really care for the fake scenery, felt like I was watching a movie at times. And YES, I did feel like humming MACRARENA at times!!! Sorry, show was a bit too boring for me. Two co-workers also happened to be there (last night of previews), were also bored.

I confess, I ducked! I was in row G all the way to the left, so the train was pretty much in my face. I was so excited to see Maria on the Today Show/Brian Williams yesterday, because she definitely deserves any publicity. She is so talented, and besides that, she has still managed to come out on top after a fall. Yay for Maria!

Oh, and Michael Ball is just AMAZERRIFFIC. I LOVE HIM. He was so so so amazing in WIW. I seriously can't get over it. I, like, dedicated a post to him and WIW on my Xanga (www.xanga/CaliGal60). It has pictures and everything! *le sigh* There must be something wrong with me.
