re: Should BIG, the musical, be revived on Broadway?
 Feb 25 2009, 04:56:31 PM
I just got cast as MacMillan for our community theater and am looking forward to it especially the song Fun which I like both versions. Obviously Mac has a bigger part in the tour version but the melody is better on the original version.

I love this score and can't wait to hear a obc for it. I don't think many people are gonna know about what James did. I certainly didn't.

There needs to be more tragedy shows on Broadway even tho I love Legally Blonde. I would love to see a revival of this amazing show. You can't even compare this and Les Mis. They are very different shows and equally as good.

Hands down Glenn Close is the best. Not sure why someone mentioned feeling sorry for Norma because she is a most unsympathetic character. The person you feel sorry for is Joe and Betty.

I've never considered Whistle Down the Wind and Woman In White to be failures.

I think the Disney shows are great. Certainly a lot better than some of the crap on Broadway these days.

re: What a joke the Tony's have become !

How anyone cannot love Whoopie is beyond me. I didn't like the ones that won this year but I still found the show entertaining if only for the performances and Whoopie.

The Cry Baby performance was miles better than both ITH and Passing Strange.
re: What musical should be made into a movie next?
 Jun 18 2008, 12:52:15 AM
yep Hairspray is another great example. The original only had music in it, it was not a musical.

I'd never heard of Chronicle of a Death Foretold or Swinging On a Star before.
