Posted: 6/17/08 at 8:55pmSnubbed that year for nominations: Big, Victor/Victoria, and State Fair. Any one of the three would have been preferable to the slight revue that was Swinging on a Star, but nothing had a shot at beating Rent.

Absolutely not. Such a wreck.
I saw that **** and it was awful!
The BIG score eventually grew on me (as a guilty pleasure, next to the AIDA score) but the show itself is terrible!

On a separate note I do really like the score for Big and think it can be staged well. I however haven't read the script yet.

I still think that Big is one of the greatest musicals ever written. Of course I am biased because it was my first show and is the show that got me into becoming a musical theatre fan.
But, honestly. I thought that Big got the nom for best musicals because I remember it performed at the Tonys.
