The show's press opening is still February 2.
They had their opening party on the Jan. 27th
My friend did say that the cast was told that if they don't receive good reviews on Feb 3, the show will close before the end of Feb. No notices have been posted, YET.

Let's wait till the end of february and see if I am trying to pass this off as fact or if it is fact. Fact is not fact until it happens. I did say that they are waiting to see the reviews. So no announcement will be made until after the opening. Hey they could turn it around. I was passing on information which I received. Take it or leave it. It is all the same to me.

Yo Scott, When did you get your badge? Is it your intention to clean up dodge? Look this is an open forum. We post opinions here. Please do not try to stomp on my rights to free speech. Why does it matter that I joined this forum and started a thread the same day. Is there a waiting period? It is called participation. Go see this show before it closes and then post your own opinion. Yes my friend knows I trash the show and he is the reason I trash it. He thinks the show sucks. He hates what is going on, the fighting is getting out of hand. I can't tell you more because he does not want to be identified but he wants out and now his wish has been granted.

Eddie, I admire your taste in music. Hotel California is a great song. Are you pushing for a jukebox musical of the Eagles?
Your source is wrong. The cast got the word today. No announcement will be made until after the reviews come out, but we all know what the critics are going to say.

I think the producers lost their big money man. He kept giving them money to keep Dracula open for 6 months but he has pulled out of this partnership. The show has been running at under 70% capacity and a lot of that has been papered.

Just got the word from a very reliable source that Good Vibrations is closing by the end of February. That is unless a mircle happens and they receive good reviews on Feb 3. My source didn't know the exact date but we should have a pool and guess it's closing date. I am guessing 2/28/05. Anyone else want in on this pool? Damn I love the Beach Boys. Wish they had a better show.

Brian Wilson does not own his Beach Boys songs. His father sold them out from under him in 1968 for $250,000. Brian has no say in whether the songs are used in the show or not. Brian, Mike, Al and Bruce have not seen the show. They may get to see it opening night but I don't think Brian will be there. He has a tour in Japan.

Eddie, Did you see the Surf's Up reading?
Jessica Grove and Andy Karl were incredible. They had amazing chemistry. They had beautiful voices and did justice to the music. Jessica can rock. She is going to be a big star.
if amyone knows if this show is playing anywhere in the NY area please let me know. I would love to see the whole show.

Eddie, did you see any reading of Surf's Up? You seem to know a lot about it. Did anyone see any reading of Surf's Up? By the way, I only added a review that was not mine because I found it on Brian wilson's website. It was posted by one of his fans. I am a fan of Brian's. I consider him a genius and an american treasure. My interest in this show (GV)is solely as a fan of Brian's. I feel his music deserved better treatment. Eddie, I apologize for the bumps. I am new here but I have been lurking for some time. No, I am not involved with any show just an actor/fan. I wish I could remember Surf's Up a little better then I could give you all the similarities of both shows. But there are many.
I really loved the fact that there were songs from many different recording artists. I laughed a lot. I didn't laugh once in GV. There was a lot of nostaglia in Surf's Up which was lacking in GV.
