We already pretty much know what the critical reaction for this show will be so how long do you guys think it'll last?
I give it until late February.
I honestly don't see them giving up that easily. I give it until summer, at least.
As I have said before the beach boys have numerous fans which will keep the show opened through the summer beyond that the show needs to build an audience for. But dodgers does not pull shows quickly and I would be surprised if this one didnt make it through August.

I know everyone can't wait, but do we really need TWO of these?

But, the Dodgers no longer have their deep pocket to prop up their shows anymore ...... I'm just saying .....
That is true but dodgers still has a bit of money even without vanjoop.

Let them open first.
What goes around, comes around, so it is best not to wish ill upon anyone--except the Weisslers, of course.
I think it depends on if the Dodgers want to wait and 'see what will happen' as they did with Dracula. It didn't work, for the record...Also -- what are the running costs for this show? I'm sure they are more than the grosses were last week. WHY DID THIS SHOW OPEN IN THE DEAD OF WINTER? If this show were to ever survive - it would need summer tourism to do it...I at least wish better things for this show than I do for say -- Mamma Mia -- but there's no tearing that one down.

I would think the reasoning for the winter opening was a sort of taste of summer in the middle of the winter type thing. Though the general percentages of attendance weren't really thought into too deeply it seems.

It's really sad to see people condemning this show so early. A guy in my school saw this show an loved it. A lot of people love it. If you aw the show and did not enjoy it, fine. But to those who haven't seen it yet- just be quiet.
the show has not even open yet... why is everyone being so... well, bitch...

Well, actually it opened just a few minutes ago. Check out the reviews -- they're scathing so far:

Margochanning,
Again I ask, How can you review a show on the night of the show and have it all written and posted before the show even starts. (Yes, it's a retorical question) I think it was a given that the critics weren't going to like it, but I'd have a lot more respect for them if they would actually see it. Liek I've mentioned before, the audiences as a whole have liked it the times I've seen it. In fact I've heard many people making plans to come back again. There are more reasons that people will buy tickets to this show, than not. I agree with the person who said out of towners will come to see it and New Yorkers won't like it. We just are not in a time period for shows that are heavy and make you think too much. People want light heartedness, right or wrong as that maybe. Look at who our president is and what group of people put him there and tell me that a show like this won't sell tickets for quite awhile. And yes I like the show, it's fun, but I still like and go to see the original, heavy, make you think, make you cry, etc. kind of shows also. AND no I'm not a shill!!!

I don't recall Margo having written a review of GOOD VIBRATIONS.

Blue Wizard,
I wasn't meaning Margo, I meant the critics, should have been more clear, sorry Margo
Yes, let's not diss Margo, please.
I thought it already announced its closing? Or was that something else?

The closing announcement, was a rumour, it may well close, but it wasn't NOT announced.

i hope that it does not colesd because i want to see it and if it close it should be recored.
Yeah, the closing announcement was a rumor I think, because it supposedly was going to be announced on opening night????????
I dunno.
Folks, there are a lot of Beach Boys fans...they aren going to keep the theater packed for now.
Critics rarely base their review on the opening night performance.
It is usually based on one of the final previews before the opening night so that the review can come out immediatly after opening.
