Just got the word from a very reliable source that Good Vibrations is closing by the end of February. That is unless a mircle happens and they receive good reviews on Feb 3. My source didn't know the exact date but we should have a pool and guess it's closing date. I am guessing 2/28/05. Anyone else want in on this pool? Damn I love the Beach Boys. Wish they had a better show.

Damn, that was fast. If that's their attitude now (I mean, c'mon, the reviews are going to be terrible), I take it they're going to open posting a closing notice, so that they have the freedom to close immediately after opening, assuming no decent day-after sales, if they want to.
Ouch.
have they even opened yet? Or am I really that out of touch. Dracula lasted longer...
All I can say is: TOLD YA!!
It's our 2005 CARRIE

They don't open until next Wednesday. Will they make it past Sunday?
Is it really that bad ? I mean, talk of a closing date while it's still in previews is a little unusual, isn't it ? And if it's just gossip, isn't it a little hard for all the people working there ? I hate it when any show closes, even if it's terrible, because it means unemployed artists !
Take care

Now, now Tiny-Toon. Given the fragile financial state of your own beloved show, you shouldn't be so glib about the unfortunate fate of another show (who's reviews probably won't be much worse than Brooklyn's ..... how could they be?).
I think the producers lost their big money man. He kept giving them money to keep Dracula open for 6 months but he has pulled out of this partnership. The show has been running at under 70% capacity and a lot of that has been papered.

Chad Kimball needs to give is agent a raise (he starts rehearsals for LENNON in just a couple of months).

So we all think Good Vibrations is the new CARRIE? Now Now Now... Nothing can be as good as CARRIE.
Wasn't "Breakfast at Tiffany's" with Mary Tyler Moore the last show to close during previews?
i really hope it doesnt close..it wasnt bad ive seen worst that are still on broadway
I give it to 2/2.
I saw it. It was lousy.
I passed people in the streets today after the matinee holding beach balls. I asked them what they thought of the show. The answer was, getting a beach ball.

Wait a second. I love the fact that when someone posts that they know some information from a "reliable source" for a show everyone is OMG LOLZing about, we all say "tsk tsk, I refuse to believe anything until it is announced officially," but once it is posted about Good Vibrations, everyone has a field day? Well I REFUSE TO BELIEVE ANYTHING UNTIL I HEAR IT OFFICIALLY!
The last show to close in previews was "Bobbi Boland", with Farrah Fawcett.
It began previews at the Cort Theatre on November 4, 2003, and closed November 9, 2003, after playing 8 previews and 0 regular performances.
I didn't see it, but have one friend who did. He said that Farrah had a hard time remembering what her husband's name was.

Bobbi Boland starring Farrah Fawcett closed in previews just last season.
I'm glad its closing for the sake that hopefully a new good show will then take over that theater
Its grosses have been bad, but not dreadful, especially for winter months.. better than Brooklyn's but GV's running costs must be above 400,000 a week
i am surprised they are giving up so easily.. this show could easily appeal to tourists who want to see a "beach boy musical"
