Do the cast do signings or such with the audience post show?
I'm scheduled to go on the night with Tina Fey and LMM so just wondering
Whether it ever comes back after the pandemic phase passes us by is anyone’s guess. If anything, actors can make lots of money meeting their fans on various digital platforms like Cameo.

With all due respect, Jordan, the OP didn't ask for predictions months into the future. They just asked about right now. With one show, in particular.
But yeah, it definitely isn't happening right now. Some people are waiting outside theatres right now, but just don't. You'd be wasting your time, and you could spend that time eating some yummy NYC food.

Everyone saying no is correct, however I did see a strange version of stage dooring occurring at Lion King a few weeks back with barricades. I was walking from a different show, so I didn’t see the whole thing but I was shocked it was happening.

When I saw Mrs. Doubtfire a couple of weeks ago, a couple of audience members, myself included, waited by the stage door after the show to cheer the cast members that came out. Some of the people were family and friends of the cast and they posed for pictures with them. I for one respected the cast's safety and just cheered them on when they walked out. They all were very nice and thanked us for coming.

I strongly urge you to reconsider doing this again. The line between closing and staying open is more tenuous than ever, and we need to be cautious

And it is stupidity like this that's going to ensure you don't see COMPANY in a few weeks. How can you not grasp the fact the a "cheering crowd" at the stage door is nothing but a superspreader of droplets of an airborne virus! JFC!
If they are keeping a distance of six feet or more and wearing their masks is it really that much of an issue?? I agree there shouldn’t be signing or posing for photos, but the former seems reasonable to me.
Right when Broadway reopened, there was like “casual” stage dooring for “Aint Too Proud” and “Thoughts of a Colored Man” where it was very spaced out across the sidewalk and we were all masked and whatnot. (Very few people at either)
At “Six”, they had the applause line at the Stage Door (masked), and at “Clyde’s”, Uzo Aduba came out and signed for the five of us that were there, everyone was strictly masked and distanced.
Most other shows were like “Hell no, go away”.
It was hit or miss depending on the show and the people and this was all well before Omicron came into play. If I truly felt a desire to stage door a certain show, I just hung around really until it was confirmed that it was a no-go. However, I assume at this point the measures have gotten much stricter and there is no room for laxness.

The problem is even if YOUR intentions are good, by forming something resembling a crowd, you're potentially becoming part of the problem. You can't tell everyone walking by that there isn't really a stage door anymore.

I've seen on social media certain actors posing with fans - some completely unmasked - and I can't for the life of me understand why?
Why are fans waiting in the first place? Why are the actors stopping? Just don't do it. ugh.
I thought it was an Equity rule that no in-person signings are allowed right now.
Does section 10 of these safety guidelines no longer apply?
10. AUDIENCE AND PUBLIC INTERACTION – Signage has been posted in all spaces and corridors to provide information that visitors are not allowed.
a. No visitors will be allowed backstage.
b. There must be at least six (6) feet between audience members and the actors.
c. There will be absolutely no interaction between the actors, or stage managers and patrons.
d. Autograph signings, Meet-and-Greets and backstage tours are strictly prohibited.

Well lots of actors are making exceptions for their friends because they are being tagged on social media posing with people and maskless both inside and outside the theatre. Also actors are going backstage and visiting friends and posting photos maskless. People in the biz may not believe this but other actors and celebrities do carry viruses.
There is a weird phenomenon where people assume if they know someone that that person is "safe" somehow. It's part of how the spread happens. It's a weird suspension of reality.

From the photos and video, those two things are definitely not consistently happening from the cheering groups.
I don't think they're really supposed to and I wouldn't be surprised if they started being more vigilant now that they all got COVID, but Freestyle was signing, chatting, and taking pictures after the show when I was there last week.
Why can't some just be grateful we have shows up and running during this very complicated time. Is it that important to wait outside of a stage door?

I think it's terribly self-centered and inconsiderate to even think of stage-dooring right now. There'll be other times....

YUP agreed and we don’t want the shows to close again! From inside the theater they’re protected because the audience is somewhat further away from them. So they’re protected in that sense. Stage door? Any one could come up to them while they’re outside the theater. What’s the point of waiting? I agree.
MJ was doing it when I saw the show a week ago, but now that they’ve had a shut down, who knows?! My friend asked me if I wanted to wait, and I said I wanted the performers to go home and take care of themselves. Wish more people did too.
Please don't. That could be the difference between a pause in our schedule or running smoothly. Just because it is happening some places, doesn't mean it should be.
