Unfortunately, the showing isn't selling very well after Cole leaves. Hopefully word of mouth once the new cast takes over will change that.

 

Wicked made a ton oif money so she is trying to justify why her movie wont. Of course there is the FACT that Jennifer Lopez can't act.

Not surprising, the production/direction wasn't very good.

I am really curious to see how Jamie Lloyd will do "Much Ado" which is my favorite Shakespeare play. It is so joyful. Has Jamie Lloyd ever done anything that was "joyful" . Having seen his "Seagull", "Evita", Cyrano" "Dolls House"and "Sunset" I don't see it as a good fit.. Quite frankly, while I loved "Sunset" and "Evita" the others were so depressing.

You are right, she is not dreadful, she is just bland, not very memorable. But then she is surrounded by enormous talent who outshine her in every scene.

I finally got to see this. Audra is wonderful, Danny even better and Joy Woods is not which brings down the last two scenes she is in. Imagine how great this would be with a perfect Louise. I think  the production is lacking (yes George C Wolfe, a man I have admired for decades, directed a lackluster show) .  (edited)

It appears as if they were expecting to do an  evening show after the put in but something happened during the put in that made them think it was better to cancel.

You have to wonder how BAD the put in was that they cancelled the show only after it was finished. How awful could it have been?

 

For whatever it's worth, I saw Maureen Moore step in for Bernadette Peters during the preview period of her run in Gypsy and Maureen Moore was amazing. That's a great actress.

Nor do I . It will be interesting to see if "Oh, Mary" continues to sell out after Cole leaves.

 

I loved this production. I saw  F Murray Abraham, Jim Dale and Roddy McDowall among others do the lead role. The score is so hummable (compare that to "Death Becomes Her" or anything else that opened in the last two years, I couldn't hum a single song to save my life).

It's fluff, but it's fun fluff, with a truly lovely score. I hope they revive this soon.

Catherine O'Hara would be so perfect.
