That's a shame, it's such a unique place! It just felt so warm and cozy to be in there.

re: Is Mamma Mia worth seeing? Mar 21

I was so excited to see the tour...well, BEFORE I saw it. I don't have any of their CDs or anything, but I enjoy ABBA. But I loathed the show. Not even the songs redeemed the corny acting, and horrible plot. I would never sit through it again.

I wasn't asking for anyone's opinion on the show. If you're not interested in the tickets that's fine. You're not offending me in the least.

Madama Butterfly was my first, too. I saw it with a tenor named Dinyar Vania. Anyone else familiar with him? He's back this season with La Boheme. I started working props on the show last night, actually. I'm in awe having Dinyar walk past me. It's great. And there's a good chance I'll get to do props again for Carmen in a few months. I'm excited!

I got to see the show November 2nd, when Bruce did his talkback. It was so much fun! I didn't expect it to be as good as it was! I'm looking forward to the cast album. Shame it didn't last longer.

You must see it! I saw it January 5th. Nevermind the songs, her stories alone are worth seeing it! Here's what she sang that night. I was so excited when they announced the line up this year. I'd hoped to see most of them. Now I find myself broke and unemployed. I did see the recent tours of Peter Pan and Mama Mia, though. I wish I had that $$$ back, so I could see a GOOD show. I hope I can find some way to round up money for Hairspray!

re: company vs sweeney todd Jan 13
2007, 06:10:26 PM
I think the concept works well for both shows, but I enjoyed it better in Sweeney. With a smaller cast it was easier (for me, anyway) to acknowledge the instruments. Not that it was distracting, I just loved to watch them play from time to time. But in Company, there was so much going on that sometimes I forgot they were playing! Company is wonderful...but there's nothing like the first time.
