Operation Mincemeat vs Maybe Happy Ending - Race for Best Musical
 Feb 16 2025, 11:33:35 PM

Sutton Ross said: "She's never seen it of course, she's just obsessed with Maybe Happy Ending like all the other 15 year olds in the world."

As someone who is not 15, I find this type of comment condescending and not really necessary. Why do people have to be so negative and snotty on this board? Yea, I adored MHE. So go ahead, make some other disparaging remark.

Maybe Happy Ending / Gypsy Cast Recordings ??
 Feb 14 2025, 02:37:05 PM

I recently saw both Gypsy and Maybe Happy Ending (and I loved them) and I'm wondering if anyone knows if there will be cast albums?

I found a "sampling" of songs on Soundcloud for Maybe Happy Ending, but, I'm hoping a recording of all the songs is released?

They lied about him and his family, made fun of him and spoke out against him as much as they could. Since then, the Broadway experience has gone the way o

With all due respect, I don’t recall Kamala Harris running on any of those issues.  I do, however, remember her talking about democracy, $50K tax credits for people starting a ne

I hate this man so much and will never forgive the people of this country for giving us another 4 years of this craziness.  He seems more deranged this time.  Who fires a whole board and appoints THEMSELVES the chairman?  Someone on a power trip.....and that is Donald Trump.  I'm waiting for someone in the Dem party to stand up to him and take leadership of the party.  I'm not sure how this move, or the executive order regarding transgender people, or the plan

Tony 2025 Predictions -- Best Actor in A Musical
 Jan 30 2025, 03:05:43 PM

There's a lot of talk about Audra vs Nicole, but, what about actor in a lead role?

I think Darren Criss is not getting enough love for his performance.  He needles the thread between human being and robot masterfully and I can't see him not getting nominated?  Hopefully the win as well.

Tom Francis seems to be another frontrunner.  Unfortunately we saw an understudy at our show so I can't comment on his performance.

I was luck enough to see both Gypsy and Sunset Blvd last week and although Nicole's performance is a career-making moment, I felt that Audra McDonald was stunning and, overall, better.  The roles are, obviously, very different but where Nicole does a lot of posing, voguing, and vamping for the cameras, Audra is giving a full performance.  She acts, sings, and kinda dances (lol).  She is able to pull some empathy and devastation out of a character that, when you really think

With all due respect, besides the reaction on this board, Gypsy is one of the two best reviewed shows on Broadway right now. The other being Maybe Happy Ending.

Does anyone know how I can buy a 14x22 window card for this show?  I found one on eBay but it is $79.  Maybe I need to just buy it at that price?  I also saw one in the Broadway shop across from the Majestic but didn't ask about it since getting it home on the train with our other luggage seemed daunting.

I saw this Tuesday night and loved every minute. It was sweet, funny, and endearing. The set is incredible and the fireflies scene is simply beautiful. I don’t think Darren is getting enough credit for his performance. He’s not a powerhouse singer, but this role doesn’t call for that. He plays this perfectly, exactly as you’d expect a robot to walk, move, and talk. All with so much heart. We saw 5 shows and this was my favorite.

DEATH BECOMES HER Reviews
 Jan 25 2025, 12:20:06 AM

We traveled to NYC to see some shows and this was the one I was most excited for, so it was very disappointing to find out that BOTH leads were out (Wed night). We didn’t know until we got to the theater (which was completely our fault for not checking email but we were at a matinee of Sunset Blvd and sightseeing..checking email wasn’t a top priority). The show was good, but we didn’t pay almost $400 for two seats to see understudies.

Saw this last night. Audra McDonald’s performance is a once in a lifetime experience. She was incredible. I’ve only seen the Bette Midler movie so cannot compare Audra to the others who have played the role on Broadway, but, I’ve never seen a performance as good. We saw Sunset Blvd on our trip as well and Nicole was amazing, but Audra’s performance is far more emotional (most of that is probably because there is more “acting” in this show). Loved her and th

I’d rather they cancel then put on an understudy for Audra McDonald.  I personally have no desire to see this without her in it.  Either way, though, it would be frustrating to have this happen only two hours before the show starts.

WOW to the reviews for this.   As a person who has never seen Gypsy I was a bit worried about this show since I have tickets for later in January.  The reviews on here have not been kind.  So, I'm a bit more optimistic about liking it now.  I mean the only negative review press came from a Trump-supporting rag that probably doesn't hold much weight among people going to Broadway shows (/end of snark).  It always makes me happy when a show gets universal praise

Lunt-Fontanne Question

I'm trying to decide between Front Center Mezzanine tickets in Row A versus Center Orchestra Row M.

I've heard that the safety rail can be a problem in Row A of the mezzanine.  And, I'm worried that the rake in the orchestra won't be steep enough since I'm going with my mother who is short.

Any thoughts?

The mailer brings row D mezzanine seats down to $89.  Are these good seats?

Will the deals be better for Broadway week?  We're planning on buying tickets to this the week of 1/21 (alongside already purchased tickets for Death Becomes Her and Gypsy) and I'm trying to decide whether I should buy tickets now or wait for BW discounts.

Mailer I received today says the codemust be used by 12/22.

I received one today with the same date.

This was on USA Today's Top 10 shows of 2024 at #2.
