You could almost feel the audience lean forward to see if she would restart the song or go into a coughing fit. She kept it together, cleared her throat a couple of times, and then she held that note for no less than 15 seconds, to which the entire orchestra leapt to their feet. A standi

Well ALW also has two new works in the pipeline.  The Illusionist (directed by Jamie Lloyd) making the World Premiere in London in 2026 and an unannounced second project.  So I could see him wanting to get Evita and Cats back in NY this season.  I'd be surprised if they're thinking an "open-ended" run for Evita.  And Maquerade will be a unique, off-Broadway presence.

While I'm all for seeing new faces in these roles, I'll admit I'm surprised that I won't be able see 3 out of 4 of the main faces I saw previously.

I've seen Sidney twice out of the 5 times I've went and I really preferred her voice and acting to Grace.  David Thaxton wa

Also not sure if that NYT review is great, it kind of reminds me of Cinderella, rave in London, but panned in New York.

I can't remember where I had read the $900/$950 k a week operating cost and the added $300 k was the speculation by the BWW writer on Reddit who does the Box Office Analysis every week.  A friend who is an investor said at one time that he was in the ball

Just to clarify any myths — SUNSET is not a financial hit in New York. It will not recoup. It won’t even return half its capitalization to investors. EVITA would be no cheaper to mount, if not more, but I ag

Probably the best scenario in NY would be if the Shubert Theatre was available and had a balcony (or could create one) that looked out on Shubert Alley...

For me if they wanted this to tour, I think the walk and backstage sequence would definitely have to be simplified, and we've been spoiled with how it's done and how well it's gone here in NY.  The sequence at the Savoy seemed far less complicated with Joe basically taking the long way from backstage to the stage by going outside.  There were no streets crossed, there wasn't massive amounts of street traffic to contend with since it was just the Savoy Hotel/theatre a

Am I the only one who doesn't think these are conspiracies?  Life happens, the show has had a limited run/engagement ending in July for some time.  People need to make decisions and choices for life after Sunset.  Doesn't seem to be that big a deal to me

Rachel is in the best way, a monster. Conceptually, it’s tapping into that dystopic young ambitious obsession of fame and power. Her vocals are the best, ever. She effortlessly navigates the entire score and makes even the extremely high notes enjoyable.

A New Argentina was an incredible showstop

Not shocking considering what "Othello" and "Good Night..." were charging though.  Especially since people had ample opportunities to get tickets at far more reasonable prices.  &nbs

I wonder if the Saturday absence was Tony awards related - since it sounded like there was a lot of people that were off that night (i.e. did they have to go and rehearse?)  As for last night, I thought I saw that Grace was also out last night.  If that's the case, here's hoping they were solidifying some of the ru

I love the ambiguous ending too. I think "Fable" is all about Margaret acknowledging, from her own lived experience, that true happy endings are unlikely under the best of circumstances, but that there's a lot

Not shocked, especially with the show itself receiving awards on both sides of the Atlantic.  A year from now when the 25-26 season is announced I'm sure they could find another star that would be able

I mean, Nicole beat AUDRA IN GYPSY. WOW. And to survive the MAGA accusations and Patti drama. This
