Off the top of my head I can name Dane Cook, Rosie O'Donnell,
Lindsay Lohan, Laura Leighton, Nia Vardolas (sp?), Alan Cumming, who all hosted at times when they weren't household names. I'm sure someone else has some better examples.

Yes, but Rosie O'Donnell was a nationally known standup and film actress, Nia Vardalos had just made the biggest comedy of the year and was on a publicity

It looks well-directed, and everyone here has great things to say, which is why it's so jarring that he has one of the worst makeup jobs I've ever seen. It just ends at the neck. The show still looks really good, though.

No joke, one time after Rocky Horror I saw a guy get approached by two people who thought he was Lea DeLaria. He smiled and took a picture with them. Probably signed their playbills, too, but I can't confirm that.
