I think they should replace the grand JFK bust with one of Donald. But make it grander.

Has Grey henson missed any shows in Elf? Will Elf be returning in future seasons? Dec 30
2024, 05:16:26 PM
I was just wondering if anyone knew if Grey or Ashley Brown or Astin missed any shows this year. I finally saw the show this weekend and it seems like an investor's dream show - relatively small set, small sized cast, but huge crowds, with inflated holiday prices. Since Elf is done so frequently around the country in regional venues, i always thought a broadway revival would not work, but this has been extremely profitable obviously. Will

Does ELF have rush? Dec 11

You may "faint" when you see the cost to get into. See other post in the land of shiz and oz.

Does ELF have rush? Dec 11

Elf has no rush of any kind . They did in 2012, but escalating costs at the north pole precluded a way to get in for a reasonable price now.

Anybody know why the "Fainter" isn't in the Wicked movie? Dec 11
2024, 11:38:55 AM
for anyone who's into Wicked, you know all about the Shiz Univerity female student that faints when Elphaba initially arrives at Shiz Univ. on stage. The "fainter" then is immediately caught by two ensemble members. It's so well known that they say in the show that this referred to as the "fainter" ensemble track in the show. Completely missing from the film. anyone maybe know why? Also, in the

SUNSET BLVD. Reviews Nov 25
2024, 03:50:21 PM
Tom Francis was back in when i saw the show on Sat night.
Question: On most Wednesdays, this show starts at 8:00, and Hell's kitchen starts at 7:00pm. Do they have to speed up the intermission time on those days? Hell's kitchen will end right at around 9:40 pm or so, and Tom would run the risk of having to sidestep a lot of people in Shubert Alley.

Is there a difference between a Resident Director and a Supervising Director Nov 22
2024, 11:15:38 AM
Ok, thanks i see - a "Supervising Director" is essentially higher up the food chain, answering directly to the production and producers and making big decision stuff. So in order for a Resident Director to evaluate a show and monitor it, they would have to essentially be in the audience, correct? i would think you could not evaluate a show from viewing it back stage or anywhere else. And a resident director's evaluation and monitoring

Is there a difference between a Resident Director and a Supervising Director Nov 22
2024, 08:02:31 AM
I was at a tour recently and was talking to someone about what the role of a Resident Director was.. Most shows of course do not have a Resident Director; only the big name shows would go through the expense of having one. And i do know that the Resident Director sometimes oversees the Broadway and tour versions of a show, which is hard to do, since a person can only physically be in person at one show at a time. then i looked in the playbill and saw the

DEATH BECOMES HER Previews Nov 1
2024, 03:06:14 PM
For anyone who saw the shows that Megan Hilty missed - meaning last friday and last Saturday, can anyone inform me if Kaleigh Cronin did the death staircase scene herself? I saw just enough of her face in last night's scene to identify the s. double as being her. But when she went on as madeline, did she just do the scene herself? It was a great scene. Also, kudos to the Lunt ushers for being on the ball and confronting those trying

DEATH BECOMES HER Previews Nov 1

The curtain call started right at 1030. And the show started kinda late because it was such a big Halloween crowd tonight. And it would've ended at

Why do they make small changes on tours as compared to Broadway? Jul 30
2024, 12:39:16 PM
I noticed several minor changes in dialogue on the Back to the Future tour:
1 ) When Lorraine's father finds Marty after falling out of the tree, he drags him away, and then says something about back problems and and hurting his back more
2) When marty and George are on the cusp of singing "put your mind to it" , George pauses for a moment and says something about a peculiar bird breed he notices
3: When Lorraine say

Sunday in the Park with George at The Axelrod Performing Arts Center Mar 26
2024, 05:39:00 AM
I don't know if Eamon Foley had to seek permission per se to utilize the ballet dancers. The ballet dancers have no speaking lines. My understanding has always been that only music and line changes need official approval. Choreogr as phy, blocking, adding in extra side characters as long as they don't speak - they say this is all at the directors discretion and imagination. They said at the box office that several years sgo Foley sent some video of his plan to the late Sondheim

LEMPICKA Previews Mar 26
2024, 05:07:07 AM
Was that prominent one liner with profanity added back in? Is the run time now 235 with the extra scene? Also, does anyone know what role producers play when additional material is inserted that adds to the shows run time and cost? I would think some would balk; of course r chavkin probably has enough clout to make her own independent choices. It was already a beautiful show, even better now apparently. Just wondering about the creative decision making process

Future of the Museum of Broadway Feb 28
2024, 02:14:47 PM
Would anyone possibly recommend getting a membership here? It runs about 150, but essentially it gives you unlimited access to the museum sunday through friday for an entire year. that would be a good way to keep going back over and over, and one wouldn't have to feel rushed getting through in one day. I know people say it's not big, or worth revisiting. But it seems like a good spot to kill time and relax between shows and other things

Future of the Museum of Broadway Feb 28
2024, 12:39:28 PM
Does anyone know anything more about if the Museum of Broadway is going to stick around? I know they've significantly reduced their hours, especially in Jan and Feb. Those are signs that a museum is not fiscally solvent. I know a lot of people don't like it and say it's small, etc, but i haven't gone yet and don't want to wait too long if it's on shaky ground. Is that Six exhibit running until April 28 big?

DOUBT 2024 Previews Feb 13
2024, 03:34:14 PM
i saw the show on sunday. Isabel keating indeed was fantastic. Breathtaking. There was no pre-show speech by Scott Ellis. What did he talk about before Thursday's show? I know keating didn't have much rehearsal time before the first weekend, but everything was obviously down pat after the first weekend. I guess he just had the standard speech of saying that the show is just starting out, please

Regional -Bridges of Madison County Jan 23
2024, 04:32:30 PM
i didn't see it at axelrod, but did see it at bucks county twice. It was a great show, but there were some significant changes from the Broadway version and the licensing materials. I was told that Hunter got permission from Marsha Norman, who he of course knows.
