As a closeted gay kid growing up in the Midwest, the Kennedy Center Honors was a yearly glimpse at Broadway royalty; long before YouTube came along. Every year, I would record the sections featuring Broadway, and would play them over and over. The Kander and Ebb tribute remains my favorite amongst them all.
As with everything Trump has “accomplished” in his presidency, nothing is about making lives better for the people who voted for that. It’s only about giving misery to the people who didn’t vote for him.
BUT this is great news for Nicole Scherzinger, if she misses out on the Tony Award; as I’m sure she will be an honorary in this year‘s telecast. Hopefully she doesn’t mind sitting between to Kid Rock and John Voight.
