The Craft: the musical
 Dec 28 2014, 11:04:28 PM
I'm currently listening to the 2012 Demo Recording for The Craft: the musical by Kevin Jones. Does anyone have any information about who is singing on it? Has anyone heard any word on any workshops or upcoming productions?

BACHELORETTE at 2nd Stage Uptown

I had seen the movie a few months ago and just purchased the script. After finishing reading it and re-watching the film I found the on-screen version to feel much more of a well rounded story. I wish I could have caught the show while it was running, especially curious to see how Celia Keenan Bolger portrayed Katie, that role seems so far from the type she is normally cast as, but I'm sure she was fantastic.

Disappointing. I thought Matt Doyle had been attached to this project for a while, shame he isn't in the cast.

If memory serves me correctly, wasn't someone fired and replaced by Tory Ross in Cry-Baby?

Here's a link to a Barbara Walters episode of Turning Point regarding the firing of Joanna Pacitti from Annie.

Actors being fired / replaced
 Dec 11 2014, 02:48:12 PM
Last night I had the chance to see The Standby's. One of the things that stuck out the most to me was (spoiler) Alena Watters being replaced in Bette Midler's Las Vegas show and being offered the swing position, thus firing the current swing, only for them to get rid of her (and the swing position) completely a short time later. What are some other instances where someone has been completely fired from a show or 'down graded' to a lesser role or position that you know of?
Oh ya, FROZEN on Broadway - it's happening

"That final scene was still quite affecting."

Agreed. Minnie Driver was stunning.

The 2015 NBC Live Musical?

I'm surprised a live broadcast of The Wizard of Oz hasn't been mentioned.

I actually really enjoyed Walken in that number, more so than the rest of the broadcast at least. I do wish they had kept him in the wig he's in staring down at me from all these ads.

"That was the highlight of the number."

I wasn't complaining

Blood Brothers as a song was not bad and kept the best part of the Ugg-A-Wugg vocals ("I'll just send for Tiger Lily..". Unfortunately as an overall number I noticed the most mistakes in it, Michael and John were out of sync, and Tiger Lily seemed off vocally and physically towards the end. Also, fairly certain during the handstand section at the beginning there was full on Indian ass.

I was really looking forward to this, but the whole thing just seems off. The pacing is so ungodly slow. It really pales in comparison to last years The Sound of Music. The sets are beautiful, the actors (save for Walken) seem to be trying their best, but it just is not coming together.

Agreed. Melissa Joan Hart still looks gorgeous though.

Allison seems to be the most engaged in this song and I think it is her best so far. F. Michael Haynie is adorable.

I definitely heard the "Clear" yelled right before the tribe entrance as well. And Walken's last "note" was barley audible.
